There is no oral English in the first exam of postgraduate entrance examination, and the written exam is the main one. In the second stage of the postgraduate entrance examination, colleges and universities will arrange their own examinations to test the oral English ability of candidates, especially students majoring in English. The English test paper for postgraduate entrance examination is divided into English (1) and English (2).
English (I) is the original unified entrance examination for graduate students "English", and English (I) is compulsory for all academic graduate students (13 major categories, 110 first level disciplines) and some professional masters (Master of Law, Master of Clinical Medicine, Master of Stomatology, Master of Architecture, Master of Nursing, Master of Chinese International Education, Master of Public Health, etc.).
English (II) is mainly a selective subject for universities and scientific research institutes to enroll professional degree master students who do not take English (I).
