In fact, "Moonlight on the Spring River" by Jiangnan silk and bamboo was originally a famous pipa song. Formerly known as "Sunset Xiao Gu", it is a big set of pipa music. It depicts the moonlight on the Xunyang River, so it is also called "Xunyang Moonlight Night".
It was first seen in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, when the legendary pipa master Ju Shilin copied the pipa score of "Leisure Narration of Quiet Sound", which was written around 1820. About 1925, during the Republic of China period, someone adapted it into a music composed of pipa and zither, and named it after Zhang Ruoxu's famous work Spring River Flower Moonlight.
Since then, some people have changed it into Jiangnan silk and bamboo, also called "Spring River Flower Moonlight Night", which is often the case with famous music.
