Mercerized cotton is worsted into high woven yarn, and then singeing, mercerizing and other special processing procedures to produce bright, soft and wrinkle resistant high-quality mercerized yarn. The high-quality knitted fabric made from this material not only retains the excellent natural characteristics of raw cotton, but also has the luster of silk, and the fabric feels soft.
Cotton fiber is a modified polypropylene fiber. The super cotton fiber underwear, bathrobe, T-shirt and other products developed and produced with it are superior in thermal insulation, water absorption, moisture transmission, quick drying, antibacterial and other properties, belonging to high-end fabrics.
Difference between mercerized cotton and cotton fiber
Structure performance: the cross section of pure cotton is round, and that of mercerized cotton is round. The longitudinal section of pure cotton is naturally distorted, and the wrinkles on the surface of mercerized cotton disappear and become smooth.
2. Physical properties: mercerized cotton has better luster than pure cotton (after mercerizing, the surface is smooth, and there is less diffuse reflection of light), higher strength than pure cotton (natural distortion disappears, fibers are closely arranged, and cohesion increases), and higher dimensional stability than pure cotton (cellulose molecules are rearranged, and original internal stress is eliminated).
Chemical properties: the reactivity of mercerized cotton is improved (the amorphous area increases, and the hydroxyl group changes from inaccessible to accessible with the rotation of the main valence bond). The adsorption capacity of mercerized cotton for water, iodine, barium hydroxide and dyes is greater than that of pure cotton.

Precautions for mercerized cotton fabric:
1. The mercerized cotton should be washed with neutral detergent. After washing, it should not be twisted or exposed to the sun. It should be hung in the air naturally.
2. When washing mercerized cotton, if you can add a spoonful of vinegar in water, the fabric will be more bright after washing.
3. Mercerized cotton must be fireproof and far away from the stove. Insect repellent must be wrapped with cloth, and do not directly touch clothes.
4. Mercerized cotton clothes are highly hygroscopic. When not wearing, it is better to hang them with a hanger and keep ventilation. If the clothes are not very dirty, do not wash them. Hang the worn clothes in a ventilated place until the sweat evaporates.
