Yanchuan County belongs to Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. Yanchuan County is located in the north of Shaanxi Province, northeast of Yan'an City, facing the Yellow River in the east across the river from Yonghe County, Shanxi Province, Qingjian County, Yulin City in the north, Zichang County in the northwest, Baota District in the west and Yanchang County in the south.
Yanchuan is the national modern folk art town named by the Ministry of Culture. The only literary champion in northern Shaanxi, Li He, and the poetess of the Qing Dynasty, Li Weiwei, both came to Yanchuan. The modern Yanchuan writers represented by Lu Yao are famous in the Chinese literary world; Paper cutting, cloth pile painting, Yangge, storytelling, Daoqing and other folk arts have unique characteristics, and literary talents such as folk art masters Gao Fenglian and Feng Shanyun have emerged.
