The policies for the examination of minority postgraduates are mainly the minority care policy and the minority backbone plan. Candidates who enjoy minority policies meet the following conditions:
① Undergraduate candidates from ethnic minority colleges and universities, who are located in the enrollment unit of the second district and are employed in the ethnic autonomous regions announced by the State Council after graduation.
② The work unit is the examinee for ethnic minority in-service personnel trained by the original unit or entrusted by the former unit in the ethnic autonomous regions announced by the State Council. This kind of examinee's score in the second interview is lower than that of ordinary examinees.

Ethnic minority backbone plan: This plan implements the principles of "targeted enrollment, targeted training, targeted employment" and "voluntary enrollment, unified examination, separate lineation, and selective enrollment". After graduation, students will return to targeted regions and units for employment according to the agreement. The number of such examinees is stipulated by the state, and the specific requirements for examinees need to see the notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on the enrollment plan for graduate students of high-level ethnic minority talents.

The postgraduate entrance examination areas are generally divided into two categories. The country determines the basic score requirements for candidates to participate in the second round examination according to the first and second categories.
Class I: 21 provinces (cities) in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan and Shaanxi.
Category II: Inner Mongolia, Guangxi, Hainan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Xinjiang.
Each type of region has different scores for postgraduate entrance examination requirements. The first type corresponds to the A zone line and the second type corresponds to the B zone line. The A zone has higher requirements and the B zone has lower requirements.
