1. First of all, avoid light: if the inkstone is placed on the desk in front of the window, it should avoid direct sunlight, otherwise the inkstone will appear dry signs, and the inkstone box is easy to dry and crack after too long exposure to the sun.
2. When enjoying the inkstone, it is better to lay a felt on the table. The inkstone should not touch metal, glass and other objects, and it is not allowed to overlap the inkstone to prevent bruise.
3. When applying wax to the inkstone, some people applied wax all over the inkstone body, some also applied vegetable oil, and some even smeared foam ink, thinking they could raise the inkstone, but these practices were not appropriate. Wax can be painted around the inkstone, and the bottom should be thin and moderate. It is most forbidden to paint wax on the part where the inkstone is polished.
4. The practice of smearing vegetable oil on the inkstone is also improper, because the vegetable oil is slow drying grease, and there is more oil on the surface of the inkstone, which attracts dust, making the inkstone dirty and emitting a strange smell or mildew.
5. During the maintenance of the inkstone box, wax should be applied frequently to maintain the gloss of the inkstone box and prevent moisture intrusion. If the inkstone box shrinks and the inkstone body cannot be put down, sandpaper can be used to polish the inside of the inkstone box to make it wider and easier to put.
6. If the ancient inkstone box is broken or damaged, it can be collected by using the method of matching boxes outside the box.
