Strictly speaking, divorce by agreement cannot be handled in another place.
Divorce procedures should be handled in the place where the husband's residence is located or the wife's residence is located, but not in a place other than the two.
Generally speaking, there are two ways of divorce. One is divorce by agreement, which requires both husband and wife to go to the civil affairs bureau of one party's registered permanent residence to go through divorce procedures together, sign a divorce agreement, and discuss property distribution, child support and other issues. This is a better and faster means of divorce. But if the negotiation fails and the couple cannot get together, they can only sue for divorce. In other words, a divorce from another place can only be filed for divorce.
[Legal Basis]
According to Article 10 of the Marriage Registration Ordinance, if the mainland residents voluntarily divorce, both men and women should go to the marriage registration office where one party's permanent residence is located to register for divorce.
