Visual requirements for military schools
According to the Physical Examination Standards for Students Enrolled in PLA Academies, the requirements are as follows.
1. The naked eye far vision of each eye is lower than 4.9 (0.8), and the command, submarine, surface ship, tank, surveying and mapping, radar students are unqualified.
2. The distance vision of each naked eye is more than 4.8 (0.6), or the distance vision of one naked eye is more than 4.7 (0.5), the distance vision of the other naked eye is more than 4.9 (0.8), or the distance vision of each naked eye is more than 4.6 (0.4), and the corrected vision of each eye is more than 4.9 (0.8). The technical students are qualified. Among them, the excimer laser surgery has been performed for more than half a year without complications, and is qualified except for submarine and airborne specialties.
The subjects whose naked eye vision is lower than 5.0 can not be admitted: flight technology, navigation technology, fire engineering, criminal science and technology, reconnaissance, etc.
Every year, there are candidates who fail to meet their favorite majors because their eyesight is not up to standard. Therefore, candidates who want to apply for military schools must make plans as soon as possible to correct their eyesight through myopia surgery, so as not to delay the visual examination.
