Article 12 of the Social Insurance Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates: "The employing unit shall pay the basic endowment insurance premium in accordance with the proportion of the total wages of its employees stipulated by the state, which shall be recorded into the basic endowment insurance pooling fund. The employees shall pay the basic endowment insurance premium in accordance with the proportion of their own wages stipulated by the state, which shall be recorded into their personal accounts."
