The Dragon Boat Festival, a traditional festival in China, is the fifth day of the fifth lunar month every year.
The Dragon Boat Festival is approaching, and I am looking forward to it. The sweet Zongxiang has deeply rooted in my heart, and I eagerly look forward to its arrival.
According to the custom, people will hang mugwort on the doors and windows that morning to drive away mosquitoes. In memory of the great poet Qu Yuan, people will also make dumplings and eat mugwort eggs. In the south of China and other regions, people also want to race dragon boats, mainly to show the charm of various dragon boats. There will be many people racing dragon boats. People in festival costumes will row together, shouting loud slogans, while chasing the dragon boat in front. You chase me, I chase you, very lively.
On the Dragon Boat Festival, our family will also make zongzi. I will follow my grandmother to learn how to make zongzi. To make zongzi, first wash the leaves and then wash the glutinous rice. When you are ready, start to make zongzi. Zongzi has a variety of tastes, including red dates, bean paste, and chestnuts. I envy Grandma's skillful technique. I chose the bean paste filling and asked my grandmother to teach me how to wrap it. With the help of my grandmother, I first folded the Zongye into a triangle, then put a red date on it, and then put glutinous rice into a half folded package. Half of the package was scattered, and then another one was scattered. I deeply feel that it seems easy for Grandma to make zongzi, but it is not easy. I must learn how to make zongzi.
In the evening, our whole family will sit together and eat big, fragrant and sweet dumplings. The happy Dragon Boat Festival will leave me with the fragrance of dumplings.
