The Tong Jia family is a Manchu, and generally refers to the Empress Xiao Kangzhang. Tong Jia, Empress Xiao Kangzhang of the Qing Dynasty, was born on November 19, the fifth year of Chongde, the daughter of Tong Tulai, the concubine of Emperor Shunzhi, and the biological mother of Emperor Kangxi.
In the 10th year of Shunzhi's reign (1653), he entered the palace and became a concubine. In the 11th year of Shunzhi's reign (1654), he gave birth to Xuanye, the third son of the emperor (Emperor Kangxi). In the first month of the 18th year of Shunzhi's reign (1661), Emperor Shunzhi died. After Emperor Kangxi ascended the throne, he and Empress Xiao Huizhang were honored in the same palace. They were called the Queen Mother of the Holy Mother, and their emblems were called Empress Dowager Cihe. In the second year of Kangxi's reign (1663), he died at the age of 23 and was buried in Xiaoling. Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong had several posthumous titles, and the full posthumous title was: Xiao Kangci and Zhuang Yigong, Huiwen, Muduan, Jing Chongtian, Yu Shengzhang, empress.
