According to the provisions of the current Code for Design of Building Water Supply and Drainage (GB 50015-2019), plastic pipes can be laid indoors and outdoors. However, when laying in the open air, some protective measures need to be taken, mainly including the following points: 1 Sun protection: materials with certain UV resistance shall be selected, or reflective coatings shall be sprayed on the surface of pipes to slow down the damage of UV. 2. Corrosion prevention: For the environment with chemical corrosivity, try to use chemical resistant pipes, or use materials such as external coating or aeration zone for protection. 3. Anti freezing: For plastic pipes laid in cold seasons, thermal insulation measures should be taken, such as the pipe has its own thermal insulation layer, or insulation materials such as insulation blanket and pipe clamp should be used. 4. Fixation: In case of disasters, natural disasters and other abnormal circumstances, strong winds, earthquakes and other factors need to be considered, and brackets and fixtures should be reasonably set to enhance the stability of the pipeline system. In general, laying plastic pipes in the open air needs to consider many aspects. It is recommended to consider comprehensively according to the actual situation, and conduct safe and reliable treatment according to relevant specifications in the design and construction. For the laying of plastic pipes, please refer to Section 6, Chapter 6 of the Code for Design of Building Water Supply and Drainage.

Plastic pipes can be laid in the open air, but they need to be designed and constructed according to the current specifications of the construction industry. Specific protection measures include: materials with good weather resistance, such as PE pipes or PVC pipes, shall be selected. When laying pipes, trenches with sufficient depth shall be excavated, and a certain thickness of sand and gravel materials shall be filled at the bottom of the pipe trenches to support the pipes, and the garbage and weeds around the pipes shall be cleaned regularly to prevent accidents such as collapse and excessive force. It should be noted that for plastic pipes on the ground, the quality and integrity of the pipes must be guaranteed to prevent problems in the smoothness of the pipes, which may cause secondary pollution or traffic accidents. It is suggested to refer to Code for Construction and Acceptance of Building Water Supply and Drainage Engineering GB 50015 and other existing specifications for details.
