Parts review and installation

The first selected accessory for ITX installation is the chassis. Today's installation uses the G200 ITX chassis under the new national electromechanical brand Shanlei. Because the MESH side plate version has been installed earlier, the white glass version is selected this time. The enclosure is 280 * 188 * 243mm in three dimensions, 12.8L in volume and 2.7KG in empty weight.

The chassis adopts a large area MESH mesh design, and the fine mesh can ensure efficient heat dissipation while also reducing dust deposition. The front panel and the top adopt the design of integrated stamping plates, and other structural parts are mainly fixed by screws, so as to facilitate the player's installation.

The top of the chassis is equipped with a high-strength leather handle (with steel bars built in, and steel reinforcing structural members at both ends), which can easily bear the weight of the whole machine.

In terms of compatibility, the chassis only supports the ITX motherboard, the graphics card is limited to 275mm long, and supports ATX power supply (below 140mm) and SFX power supply. In terms of heat dissipation, it supports air cooling within 160mm high. The top 12015 fan position * 1, the bottom 12015 fan position * 1, and the rear 12025 fan position support.

The I/O panel of the chassis provides a Type-C, a USB 3.0 data interface and a power switch with a white light ring, which can also basically meet the needs of daily use.

In terms of processor, I know you dislike it, but without 12600KF on hand, a 14400F with 10 cores and 16 threads is not bad. Of course, I would strongly suggest that you start with 12600KF. Now let's talk about the most cost-effective i5.

There are not many choices for small chassis motherboards, but in the long run, the D5 version of ITX motherboard is preferred. The familiar MSI MPG B760I EDGE WIFI motherboard is still selected for this installation. 8+1+1 phase intelligent power supply design, coupled with external 8Pin power supply, can easily play all the performance of 14400F (with 12600KF, it is also no problem). Two M.2 solid state slots on the board, both supporting pcie4.0, share one frost cooling armor. In terms of memory, it can also support D5 7200MHz+OC.

According to today's board U configuration, the 6400MHz D5 should be a high configuration. If you are worried that your non K processor may not be able to open XMP, it is also a good choice to choose a lower 6000MHz. This installation uses the Star D5-6400 16G * 2 light bar, which must be able to be used directly with one click XMP.

In terms of hard disk, we have chosen a full blooded pcie4.0 solid state - Star 7000 Plus 1T M.2. If you think it may not be enough, rest assured, we actually have a western high-capacity mechanical hard disk.

Thanks to the relatively abundant large space, we don't need to be limited to the downward pressure air cooling in terms of heat dissipation. The final choice is the single tower Yingchi Fengling 600 air cooling, which not only can easily get the 12/13/14 generation Core i5, but also can add ARGB light effect to the appearance.

Lock air cooling

The platform locks into the chassis.

Thanks to the manufacturer, the SFX power supply is no longer unattainable. The power supply used in the installation is the Almordor SFX850 pcie5.0 gold medal full module power supply. The power supply is 125 * 100 * 63.5mm in three dimensions. Its compact size can fit most ITX cases. At the same time, the power supply supports the intelligent start and stop of the fan, and the low load state can create a quieter use environment. (There is only a ready 850 SFX on hand, and 650 SFX is enough if you mind). It is suggested to customize the power module cable according to the size of the chassis if it is a self used host and pursues details.

Worried that the heat dissipation of the small case is not good enough, then three Limin TL-C12015W-S thin fans will be added.

There are also relatively many restrictions on the selection of graphics cards in the small chassis. The installation length is limited to 275mm. I only found this dual fan RTX4060 metal master OC graphics card that can be adapted through the inventory. Of course, it would be more perfect if the rank could be one or two levels higher.

Lock the video card, and then simply manage the offline, it is barely passable.

The mechanical disk is installed at one side of the power supply compartment. (Remember to lock it in advance before installing the power supply)

Game experience

In the game Rainbow 6 · Siege, the picture quality is super high, the rendering ratio is 100%, and the average frame rate of the game is 260 FPS at 1080P resolution

In the game "Extreme Speed · Horizon 5", extreme picture quality and extreme light pursuit, turn on DLSS 3.0 and set it to super performance mode. Under 1080P resolution, the average number of frames in the game is 95 FPS

In Cyberpunk 2077, the picture quality is super. Light tracing is set to path tracing mode, DLSS is set to super performance mode, and DLSS 3.0 and light reconstruction settings are enabled. At 1080P resolution, the average frame rate of the game is 117.61 FPS;

In the game "CS2", the picture quality is very high. Using the test Demo made by the player in station B, the actual frame rate of the game is about 120 FPS at 1080P resolution, and most of the time it stays above 170 FPS.

Installation comments

There must be nothing to be picky about the appearance of the whole machine. The side view is matched with the ITX small host, and the effect is also good. The small volume of 12.8L and the limited desktop, including the student dormitory, are also under no pressure. The key is that it can be carried away at any time, which is also very applicable to the student party or the party on business trip.

As for the inherent impression of poor heat dissipation of small and medium-sized hosts, it can be said that there is basically no heat dissipation problem with the above configuration, and the air duct design of the chassis itself is reasonable enough. To sum up, the combination of 12600KF (please ignore the 14400F in the article) and 4060 video card within the budget of 6K, and 1080P resolution, whether playing 3A or online games, can also have good frame performance. In terms of productivity, running AI can draw a picture, which is not bad.
