This year, Xiong'an New Area plans to renovate 37 old residential areas, including 16 old residential areas in Anxin County, which have been planned for construction ahead of schedule in 2022. At present, they are basically completed. The remaining 21 old residential areas (6 in Xiongxian County and 15 in Anxin County) have all been started, with a construction rate of 100%, and are expected to be completed by the end of September. The completion rate of old residential quarters is 43%, ranking second in the province.

It is understood that most of the old residential areas in the three counties undergoing the transformation were built in the 1980s and 1990s, and there are many problems such as large area of exposed external walls, disordered air lines, lack of anti-theft function of existing unit anti-theft doors, aging of water supply and drainage pipelines, aging and damage of roads, no fitness, entertainment and leisure facilities, and lack of fire-fighting facilities and equipment. In view of these problems, the reconstruction of old residential areas also focuses on water supply and drainage pipelines, roads, roof waterproofing, wall painting, landscape optimization, and improvement of supporting facilities.
