We strive to play the role of 'old uncles' around employees, so that they can feel the warmth and care of the enterprise at any time and anywhere." On May 27, Dai Yanmin, chairman of the trade union of SAIC Volkswagen (Xinjiang) Automobile Co., Ltd., said frankly.

SAIC Volkswagen (Xinjiang) Automobile Co., Ltd., located in Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District), has 13 "old aunts" from the trade union. Their enthusiastic and careful figures are active in various workshops. They pay close attention to the daily needs of people around them, and always pay attention to the well-being of employees.

Liu Minghui, a post-90s generation, has two identities. She is not only a reporter in the production department, but also a warm-hearted "old uncle". "We should learn to listen, make ourselves approachable, and be good at listening to the 'subtext' that workers are not convenient to say and are embarrassed to say," Liu Minghui said.

Once, Liu Minghui found that a pregnant female worker was holding her waist and walking slowly when she came out of the bathroom, so she went forward to ask, and learned that she was in the late pregnancy period. Because of the pressure on her waist and abdomen, it was inconvenient to squat down and get up when going to the toilet.

In consideration of the special needs of female employees during pregnancy, Liu Minghui immediately visited female employees of the company together with "old uncles" from other departments, listened to their voices in their spare time, and proposed to Song Youming, the chairman of the labor union of the production department, to install handrails in the washroom.

There is no trivial matter concerning the staff. Song Youming recalled: "I didn't dare to delay for a moment and immediately reported to Chairman Dai. The company held a temporary meeting of trade union members, and everyone agreed to install handrails." Within two days, handrails were installed in the toilets of the production department, and within a week, the toilets in all areas of the company were also installed.

"I am young and energetic, so I feel very honored to serve my fellow workers." Sun Chen, a vehicle inspector in the operation department, is a senior "old uncle". Since his entry, he has participated in the "old uncle" work method training organized by the company for many times, constantly improving the ability and level of service staff.

Last winter, when Sun Chen helped his colleagues complete the outdoor parking task on duty, he felt cold. He was acutely aware that the newly allocated tooling fabric was not cold proof enough in extreme weather when the temperature dropped sharply. Therefore, Sun Chen immediately joined hands with Liu Linsong, the "old uncle" in the relevant responsible area, to count the number of outdoor workers and feed back to Ma Lei, the chairman of the trade union of the operation department. Ma Lei inquired about the inventory tooling information through the management department, and learned that there were still a batch of cotton vests in stock. With the active promotion of the trade union, he started the registration and application process. In only half a day, 30 outdoor operators from the production and operation departments all wore thick cotton vests. Later, the trade union issued warm necklaces to employees.

"The 'old uncle' is a familiar person around us. We are willing to listen to what they say, and we are willing to tell them what they think, worry, and difficulties they have," said Zeng Limei, a reporter from the Operation Department.

What do you eat when you get home from work? How can we eat dinner economically and healthily? There are special people at home, and cooking becomes a problem. With the efforts of the "old uncle", the labor union of the company has attached great importance to the problems that are common headaches for employees. On the basis of extensive research and brainstorming, the company launched the dinner reservation mode, which includes not only delicious finished dishes, but also dishes with complete ingredients. "What's more satisfying is that the low fat and low oil dinner is suitable for the elderly, and you can also book healthy and nutritious children's meals," said Zhou Rui, a financial manager.
