In August 2023, I (a member of the 25th Research Group of North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower) came to Xiaobaoying Primary School in Dushan Town, Anlong County, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. I still haven't gone out of the memory and confusion brought by graduation, but I turned around and became a teacher of more than 100 children. I deeply feel the great responsibility and glorious mission.

In Xiaobaoying Primary School, I stepped on the platform for the first time and wrote down the teaching plan for the first time... This sudden change made me feel a bit at a loss. I didn't know how to face the children and how to teach them well. Until the beginning of school that day, I saw a rainbow across the mountains, my heart finally had the answer.

I am responsible for the second grade Chinese teaching tasks. During class, I found that children prefer the vast world outside the classroom to textbooks. I remembered what Mr. Ye Shengtao said, "There is a method in teaching, but there is no fixed method in teaching. It is the method that counts." So I began to think about how to move knowledge out of the classroom, attract their attention, and cultivate their interest in learning. When learning the text "The Secret of Nature", I led the children to observe how the tadpole turned into a frog in class, to see how the seeds of Xanthium sibiricum traveled by the roadside, and to find where the fog was in the corridor. When learning the lesson "The fox assumes the tiger's power", I guided the children to understand the truth and meaning of the fable story in the role play. To teach others is to teach yourself. This process has made me deeply understand the true meaning of teaching. Through constant trial and practice, we can find more suitable teaching methods for children, so that they can learn happily and grow in practice.

After learning that two children in Wenna Village had difficulties in learning, my friends and I went to the children's home on weekends to help them explain their difficulties in learning and make up for their lessons. In chatting and playing with them, guide them to see that strangers should not be shy and should dare to express their own ideas. The experience of delivering lessons at home made me realize that teaching knowledge is not enough. Most of the children in the mountains are left behind children. They usually live with their grandparents and lack the care of their parents. I strengthened the psychological guidance of children by playing games in class and talking with them after class. When I saw that the children's character became more and more cheerful and lively, I thought that this might be the meaning of my coming here.

This year, I rolled up my sleeves to work hard and vowed to "break through" a new atmosphere. During the service period, I actively cooperated with the school to organize various club activities, which enriched the children's campus life. Dream class, calligraphy class and nature class have become the highlights and characteristics of Xiaobaoying Primary School.

In chatting with children, I asked them what their dreams were? What do you want to be when you grow up? There is also a rainbow deep in the mountains, and the children in the mountains must also have their own dreams, from which the dream classroom comes. The Dream Class focuses on activities and games, aiming to inspire children's self-confidence, guide them to firm their ideals and beliefs, set lofty goals, and strive to achieve their dreams through hard study and courage. Calligraphy class develops students' literary accomplishment and improves their aesthetic level through the inheritance of traditional culture. With the theme of four seasons, the nature class enables children to improve their practical ability, further guide them to pay attention to the ecological environment, and cultivate their awe of nature in the process of learning intangible cultural heritage such as the Miao bench dance and Buyi tie dye.

I also took the children out of the mountains and into Guiyang to carry out the "Youth Meets Guizhou" youth study city experience travel volunteer service activity. The activity opened a "window" for rural children to see the different world outside the "window" for children in the mountains. Through the city experience activities of "entering a science and technology museum, visiting a university, experiencing patriotism education, watching a 3D movie, experiencing urban rail transit, experiencing intangible cultural heritage culture, playing a game with college students' brothers and sisters, and receiving a love gift package", we will build a city experience for children deep in the mountains, integrate into the city, and increase their knowledge It is a dream bridge to broaden their horizons and stimulate their confidence and ambition to work hard and create a better life. This year, the eyes of the children have gained more luster, and my heart has also gained more joy and happiness.

In this year, while doing a good job in education and teaching and brand activities such as "Huashui Runhe Capital" and "Guard Bud", we also carried out a wealth of volunteer service activities relying on the resource advantages of North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower. On the day of Constitution Day, we contacted the Law Popularization Propaganda Team of the Law School of North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower to have a rule of law class of "walking with the law, growing up healthily" for local students and parents; On the occasion of World Water Day and China Water Week, we gave full play to the unique advantages of water conservancy and hydropower of our school, and together with the volunteers of the Western Plan of Dushan Town, we went to the water source to pick up garbage and dredge the river. We also set up Hua Xiaoyu volunteer service team to go into communities, schools and villagers' homes to popularize water-saving knowledge and jointly protect water resources.

This year, we worked together to plant the seeds of hope in the deep mountains. One day, the seeds will take root and sprout and grow into towering trees; One day, the rainbow in the mountains will cross thousands of mountains and spread the light of hope to the broader sky!
