The 10001st Imagination on Supporting Education

This year, the Xiong'an Detachment of the Research Branch of Beijing Normal University undertakes the teaching task of the senior one group in the Xiong'an Rongdong Branch of Beijing Eighty Middle School (Xiong'an Rong and the First Senior High School). Each senior one student will meet the supporting teachers from Beijing Normal University in at least one course. I think that in the minds of the students, the "Beijing Normal University Graduate Education Support Group" has become a three-dimensional image. It is the character in Chinese class, the topic exploration in political class, and the aesthetic effect in music class; It's music science class, basketball club, drama club, radio station

In August 2023, the high-speed railway will slowly enter Baiyangdian Station. At 6:30 in the morning on the playground, I walked through the thin or thick morning fog and met the rosy dawn; At 10:30 p.m. in the office, four other volunteers from Xiong'an Detachment and I turned off the last light in the corridor and looked forward to tomorrow's class in the discussion.

Once I had 10000 kinds of imagination about volunteer education. When I came to Xiong'an, I found that the script I really opened was the 10001st.

When I first came to Xiong'an, I was suddenly entrusted with an important task and became the "deputy head teacher" of Class 5, Grade 1. Where did I work as a class teacher before, not to mention taking morning exercises, studying early, watching classes... In this way, I and my five classes fought hand to hand.

I appeared in the running team at 6:00 in the morning, stationed in the classroom during morning reading and evening self-study, racked my brains to think of new ideas for class meetings, and occasionally received several students who were in poor mental state and emotional fluctuations. During the period of selecting subjects and dividing classes, almost every day students came to my office to talk, and the corner of the office became a "wailing wall". After class, I can always see sad students sitting beside me telling about their "experiences" in the new class, complaining that learning is too difficult, too hard and too tired, and they won't leave until class. In just a few days, the children cried their eyes out over my big bag of paper towels.

In Xiong'an, all the changes happened suddenly - suddenly became a class teacher, suddenly went to substitute classes, suddenly implemented a new timetable that was more convenient for review, suddenly changed a subject to implement teaching... The plot turns here were even too late to pave the way.

At the beginning of January 2024, I got a new "identity card" - the English teacher of the art specialty class in Senior Two. From "political teacher graduated from English major" to "English teacher from political group", I even couldn't switch roles for a while.

When teaching politics, I always hope that the children in the science class can learn something from politics, so I ask the group to show a piece of social news before each class and organize the whole class to discuss; When preparing lessons, carefully select topics that fit the hot topics to inspire students to think for themselves... teach English back and catch up with the final review. Students have poor foundation. How can they improve their grades? Don't worry, take your time - absorb a little in each class, and don't just talk about it several times; An irregular verb change, repeated 7 times within 3 days, was finally printed in students' memory; If you can't remember complicated words and sentence structures, remember simple ones first; If the dictation is not correct, go to the podium one by one to correct it face to face... After a period of time, it has been fruitful. Seeing that they are really willing to start learning English hard, the sense of achievement at that moment outweighs everything. In the final exam, students who had never written English compositions before tried to fill in the answer cards for the first time. My heart was full of emotion and pride.

I wrote one of my favorite poems in "Message from the Head Teacher": "I should know the tide and have a letter, and I would like to follow my love to the end of the world." No matter how dramatic the plot is, how sudden the turn comes, the ending has already been written. I am destined to leave, but the research group of Beijing Normal University will not. The sequel to the story of Xiong'an volunteer education will be handed over to the next research group to continue writing after the school starts in autumn.
