On July 28, the provincial training, commendation meeting and expedition ceremony of the 2016 Western Plan for College Students Volunteer Service in Guizhou Province was held in Guiyang, with more than 800 volunteer representatives from all over the country participating.

It is understood that 2201 volunteers who came to Guizhou to carry out volunteer work this year came from Beijing, Shanghai, Hubei, Hebei and other places. They will carry out five special volunteer services at the grass-roots level in Guizhou, including basic education, agricultural science and technology, medical and health care, youth work at the grass-roots level, and social management at the grass-roots level, with a service period of 1-3 years.

It is reported that since 2003, Guizhou Province has organized, recruited and dispatched 36826 volunteers for the Western Plan to more than 1200 villages and towns in 88 counties (cities, districts, districts) of the province to carry out volunteer services such as supporting education, agriculture, medicine, poverty alleviation and development, distance education, legal aid, etc. (Reporter Xie Menghang)
