On the morning of July 21, the "2016 Commendation Meeting and Volunteer Expedition Ceremony of Fujian University Students Volunteer Service for the Western Plan and the Plan for Less Developed Areas" opened in Fuzhou.

This activity was jointly organized by the Organization Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, the Civilization Office of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, the Communist Youth League Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Finance, the Provincial Department of Education, and the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. The launching ceremony commended 73 outstanding volunteers who had completed the service period of the 2014 to 2016 college student volunteer service plan in underdeveloped areas in Fujian Province Under developed areas plan to see off college student volunteers.

The choice of voluntary service and hard work in the west and at the grass-roots level is a vivid manifestation of the practice of socialist core values through practical actions. "We hope that you will actively promote the spirit of volunteerism of dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress, and lead by example to advocate the good voice of young people through voluntary services, so as to convey the positive energy of youth."

So far, 4572 college student volunteers in Fujian Province have gone to Ningxia, Xinjiang, Tibet, and Sanming, Longyan, Nanping, and Ningde in Fujian Province to carry out two-year volunteer services, alleviate the thirst for talents in the western and underdeveloped regions, and promote the development of local economic undertakings.
