On July 15, the expedition ceremony of the 2016 Western Plan for College Students' Volunteer Service in Leshan was held at the Party School of the Municipal Party Committee. 196 volunteers of the Western Plan collectively swore that they would practice the spirit of volunteerism, spread advanced culture, and contribute to the building of a beautiful society of solidarity, equality, fraternity, and common progress.

It is reported that the volunteers participating in the Western Plan this time include 52 new volunteers and 144 renewal volunteers. After the 4-day training, the volunteers will go to relevant counties (cities, districts) of Leshan City to fight against poverty and carry out volunteer services such as supporting education, agriculture and poverty.

"It is hoped that a new batch of volunteers of the Western Plan can take root at the grassroots level, become clear minded, committed, enthusiastic and honest people, display their talents and make contributions to the development of education and medical services in Leshan, especially for poverty alleviation," said the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Youth League Committee, Leshan City has introduced 1490 volunteers for the Western Plan since the implementation of the Western Plan project of college students' voluntary service in 2003. During the service period, the vast number of volunteers of the Western Plan, based on their posts, made silent contributions and earnestly practiced the volunteer service spirit of "dedication, fraternity, mutual assistance and progress", won unanimous recognition from service units and local people with practical actions, and made positive contributions to promoting the development of local education, health, agricultural technology, poverty alleviation and other undertakings.
