From now on to the middle and late May, new graduates or graduate students of ordinary colleges and universities in 2024 can log in to the official website of the Western Plan through the WeChat official account "Western Volunteer Club" ("I want to register" in the menu bar) or the official website of the Western Plan（ http://xibu.youth.cn ）, register in the Western Plan Registration System.
The Western Plan of College Students Volunteer Service (referred to as the Western Plan) is a major talent project jointly organized and implemented by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Since the implementation of the Western Plan in 2003, more than 500000 college graduates and graduate students have been recruited to serve at the grass-roots level in more than 2000 counties (cities, districts, banners). The whole society, especially the youth, has sung the era melody of going to the west, to the grass-roots level, and to make contributions to the motherland and the people's most needed places.
From 2024 to 2025, with the support of the central government, for new graduates or graduate students of ordinary colleges and universities (listed in the National List of Ordinary Colleges and Universities by the Ministry of Education), Recruit and send volunteers of the Western Plan National Project to work at the grass-roots level in the western region (including the recruited volunteers of the 26th China Youth Volunteer Poverty Alleviation Relay Program Graduate Education Corps). All localities shall organize and implement local projects of the Western Plan in accordance with the operation mode and work requirements of national projects. The service content of the Western Plan is divided into 8 special projects, including rural education, rural construction service, healthy countryside, youth work at the grass-roots level, rural social governance, defending the country and guarding the border, serving Xinjiang, and serving Tibet. The volunteer service period is 1-3 years, and the service agreement is signed once a year.
