There were 583 effective candidates for additional election of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 655 effective candidates for additional election of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. According to incomplete statistics, Pan Feng from Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School and Xia Haiping from South University of Science and Technology were included in the list of Ministry of Chemistry among the effective candidates for additional election of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wang Liping, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yan Ning, Tsinghua University, Shenzhen Academy of Medical Sciences (preparatory), Huang Sanwen, Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, and Institute of Agricultural Genome, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, were selected into the list of the Department of Life Sciences and Medicine; Zheng Hairong, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was selected into the list of Information Technology Science Department; Fang Hongwei of Tsinghua University and South University of Science and Technology was selected into the list of the Ministry of Technology and Science.

Among the valid candidates for the additional election of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Lian Yubo of BYD (002594) Co., Ltd. was selected into the list of the Department of Mechanical and Transport Engineering; On the list of Information and Electronic Engineering Department, Shen Xiangyang from the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Digital Economy Research Institute (Futian) and Xu Wenwei from Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. are listed; Cao Leifeng of Shenzhen University of Technology was selected into the list of the Ministry of Energy and Mining Engineering; Li Qingquan of Shenzhen University was selected into the Ministry of Civil Engineering, Water Resources and Construction Engineering.

In 2023, the election of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering will be started on May 31, and a total of 79 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and no more than 90 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering will be elected.
