Bayi District is located at the southern foot of the eastern Nyainqentanglha Mountains on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, where Yarlung Zangbo meets Nyang River, the mother river of Nyingchi, with an average altitude of 3000 meters. Sichuan Tibet Highway 318 National Highway and 306 Provincial Highway run through the region, 400 kilometers away from the capital Lhasa, 1700 kilometers away from Chengdu, the southwest central city, and about 50 kilometers away from Linzhi Airport. It covers an area of 8560 square kilometers (85600 square kilometers), governs four towns, three townships, two sub district offices, 67 administrative villages, and four residential communities. The total population is more than 63000, of which more than 17000 are farmers and herdsmen, with the Tibetan nationality as the main body, and more than 10 ethnic groups and ethnic groups such as Han, Tibetan, Hui and Menba live together.
