Baqing (meaning "big cow hair tent" in Tibetan) is located in the northeast of Tibet Autonomous Region, in the east of Naqu City, in the upper reaches of Nu River, at the southern foot of Tanggula Mountain, in the south of Ruxian County and Suoxian County, in the west of Nierong County, in the north of Zaduo County, Qinghai Province, and in the east of Dingqing County, Changdu City. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south. The average elevation of the whole county is more than 4500 meters. It is located at 94 ° 4 ´ east longitude and 31 ° 55 ° north latitude. Baqing County, with a total area of 9810 square kilometers (98100 square kilometers), is located at Dartang, the north bank of Yiqu River along the Heichang Highway. Laxi Town, the seat of Baqing County Government, is 4200 meters above sea level and is located on the 317 National Highway. Baqing County is 590km away from the capital Lhasa and 268km away from Seni District, where Naqu City is located.
