On November 4, the National Bamboo Industry Technological Innovation and Development Summit Forum and the awarding ceremony of the National Bamboo Industry Research Institute were held in Anji County, Zhejiang Province. Officials and industry representatives from the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, China Bamboo Industry Association, China Academy of Forestry Sciences, Zhejiang Provincial Forestry Bureau and Anji County attended.

Anji is a famous "Chinese bamboo town", with 1.01 million mu of bamboo forests, including 870000 mu of Moso bamboo forests. After more than 40 years of innovative development, a single green bamboo has supported Anji's 10 billion yuan industry. Five indicators, including the amount of standing bamboo, the annual output of commercial bamboo, the annual output value of the bamboo industry, the annual export volume of bamboo products, and the comprehensive economic strength of the bamboo industry, rank first in the country. Anji also faced the development problems of bamboo industry, focused on green, low-carbon and common prosperity, and actively planned the reform of bamboo forest carbon sink. At present, the total output value of the county's bamboo industry is more than 20 billion yuan, with nearly 30000 employees. Anji has created nearly 10% of the country's total output value of bamboo industry with 1.8% of the country's standing bamboo.

In September this year, under the care and guidance of the State Forestry and Grass Administration and the Zhejiang Provincial Forestry Bureau, the Anji County Government and the Wood Industry Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build the National Bamboo Industry Research Institute. The two sides decided to carry out cooperation in the field of bamboo industry revitalization and development, strengthen common key technologies, expand the application fields of bamboo products, and enhance the core competitiveness of the industry, Jointly exploring green waters and green mountains is a new path for the transformation of Jinshan and Yinshan.

At the activity site, the National Forestry and Grass Bureau awarded Anji County with the "National Bamboo Industry Research Institute"; Anji County appointed Yu Wenji, the chief scientist of the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences, as the president of the National Bamboo Industry Research Institute. The achievements of "ten categories of bamboo products carbon footprint carbon labels" in Anji County were released on the site.

At the keynote speech of the National Bamboo Industry Technological Innovation and Development Summit Forum, Li Jian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a video speech, Xiao Wenfa, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences, Yu Wenji, chief scientist of the Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences, Xiao Yan, professor of Zhejiang University, "Yangtze River Scholar", national distinguished expert, Zhang Jian, secretary of the Party Committee and president of the Zhejiang Academy of Forestry Sciences, Seven experts and scholars, including Fang Wei, vice chairman and professor of the Bamboo Branch of the Chinese Forestry Society, Chen Yuhe, executive vice director of the Bamboo Research and Development Center of the National Forestry and Grass Administration, and Wu Shengfu, vice chairman of the China Forest Products Industry Association and professor level senior engineer, made keynote speeches around the cutting-edge technologies and research achievements related to the development of the bamboo industry.

Guests from major bamboo producing areas across the country also held thematic dialogues around "exchange of work experience in bamboo producing areas", and guests from relevant bamboo industry enterprises held thematic dialogues around "transformation and upgrading of bamboo industry enterprises".
