Functions of Xuancheng People's Procuratorate: Xuancheng People's Procuratorate is a legal supervision organ, leading the procuratorial work of the whole city, responsible for and reporting to the Xuancheng People's Congress and its Standing Committee.

Main responsibilities:

1. Thoroughly implement Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Party's line, principles, policies and deployment, adhere to the Party's absolute leadership over procuratorial work, resolutely safeguard General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position in the Party Central Committee and the core position of the whole Party, and resolutely safeguard the authority and centralized and unified leadership of the Party Central Committee.

2. To lead the work of the procuratorial organs of the whole city; To study, decide and deploy the procuratorial work tasks of the whole city, and guide, supervise and inspect the implementation of procuratorial work tasks in accordance with the work guidelines determined by the Municipal Party Committee and the Anhui Provincial People's Procuratorate.

3. Be responsible for guiding the city's procuratorial organs to implement policies and laws; For the application of law problems encountered in the procuratorial work, the judicial interpretation and legislative suggestions shall be submitted to the relevant departments according to the procedures.

4. Exercise the power of investigation on criminal cases directly accepted according to the law, and lead the procuratorial organs of the whole city to carry out investigation on criminal cases directly accepted by the People's Procuratorate according to the law.

5. Review, approve and arrest major criminal cases in accordance with the law, and legally supervise the filing and investigation activities of the public security and national security organs in the city; To lead the city's procuratorial organs in the investigation and supervision of criminal cases.

6. Review and prosecute major criminal cases in accordance with the law, and supervise the criminal trial activities of the people's courts in the city; To lead the examination and prosecution work and criminal trial supervision work of the procuratorial organs of the whole city.

7. Supervise the criminal execution activities of the city according to law; To lead the procuratorial work of the city's procuratorial organs in criminal execution.

8. Legal supervision over civil and administrative cases in the whole city according to law; To lead the city's procuratorial organs in legal supervision over the trial and litigation of civil and administrative cases.

9. Be responsible for initiating public interest litigation that should be undertaken by the Municipal Procuratorate; To lead the procuratorial organs of the city to initiate public interest litigation.

10. To lodge a protest to the Municipal Intermediate People's Court according to law against the legally effective but wrong judgments and rulings made by the people's courts all over the city.

11. Accept complaints, appeals and exposures from citizens, and handle criminal compensation matters.

12. Inspect, appraise and review the material evidence of major and difficult cases according to law, and guide the procuratorial technical work of the procuratorial organs in the city.

13. Plan and guide the financial, equipment and other logistics support work of the procuratorial organs in the city.

14. To be responsible for the ideological and political work, procuratorial supervision, cadre education and training of the procuratorial organs in the city, and the construction of the procurator team and the judicial police team.

15. Undertake other matters that should be in the charge of the Municipal People's Procuratorate.
