Like a distant dream

The long-awaited Foshan Dongguan Intercity finally opened, but in fact, since the first day of opening, I have realized that I may have been thinking too much, and I didn't even have the chance to catch that bus. The reason for this idea is that the first train on the first day of operation was from Dongguan to Guangzhou. When it arrived at the Machong Station, all people on the platform could not get on the train. Because the train was already crowded, passenger flow control was carried out at the platform. In theory, it is understandable that the first train on the first day of opening is like this. After all, everyone is fresh, but I don't think so. The second day of opening was Monday, an ordinary working day. A colleague of the company tried to take the Fo Guan Intercity to go home, but found that even in the evening peak of an ordinary working day, there were few seats left when getting on the bus in Machong. What does that mean? It means that if I want to go home on Friday night, I have to make a question mark whether I can get on the bus, because the flow of people from Monday to Thursday is certainly different from that of Friday, and it is no exaggeration that the flow of people on Friday is more than three times that of other working days.

The weekend of June 1st has been crazy once. The three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday is crazy to the limit. Fortunately, my colleague asked for leave on the Friday before the Dragon Boat Festival and couldn't leave me at Machong Station when she was off work. If she did leave me there, I might not know what time to get on the bus that night. Because the stations in Dongguan were already full. The students had to take the bus home before the festival. The university students crowded out all the trains that were more than 16 o'clock. After the fourth line was completed, the sign of "sold out" appeared on 12306 for the first time. On the Friday before the Dragon Boat Festival, I left my work 20 minutes early, but the time to get home was about the same as usual, because I waited for Guan 618 on the left bank of Binjiang River for nearly 20 minutes. The waiting for the bus almost wiped out all my advance time, but at least it took me less than two and a half hours to get home. After returning home, I turned on my computer and opened Baidu Post Bar. I found that netizens said that all the tickets on 12306 had been sold out before 9 p.m. in the Guanghui Intercity from Dongguan to Guangzhou. Of course, you can also directly swipe the QR code in the station hall without buying a ticket on 12306, but who knows how many passenger flow controls there will be.

The afternoon and evening of the last day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday are even more crazy, no matter which direction. Both Guangzhao and Guanghui intercity are full. Since the afternoon, the train has been delayed in a large area. So many people were blocked before the security check, so many people were blocked between the iron horses before entering the gate, and so many people were waiting at the platform. The intercity train is different from the subway train. I have never heard that the subway train will drive off passengers because of overcrowding, but if the intercity train is overcrowded, the train will alarm, or even cannot start, so it can only invite passengers off. The train could not run at the normal speed even though the door was forced closed, so it had to run at a reduced speed. Therefore, a large area of train delays began in the afternoon. The reason was that the train could not run according to the set schedule because of the reduced speed.

How do you understand the term "large subway"? Because it runs a long route? But in fact, the departure interval of trains is also very long. The trains run every 40 minutes. If the trains run every 4 minutes, a station may have 10 more passengers from the subway, which is just the case of one station. Therefore, if this large subway fails to increase the density of trains during peak hours, it will only lead to waves of complaints and reputation will decline. People in need will have to queue up even if they are crowded again, but people who have other options may not want to take advantage of this so-called convenience. Dongguan is a city with a population of ten million. Most people in this city are not local people in Dongguan. It is conceivable that when they want to flow, it is a terrible number. It is the limit of the fourth intercity line in Guangdong to send 200000 yuan a day without extra buses. Some trains are too crowded to be crowded again. It is estimated that neither the Guangzhou Metro nor the leaders of the four cities expected that this large metro would have the same passenger flow as a volcanic eruption so soon.

Machong is only one step away from Lianhua, or Machong Town, Dongguan, and Panyu District, Guangzhou. But the key is that I may not be able to get on the train to Guangzhou in the blink of an eye at some critical times.

It's boring when it's near

I don't know since when I have been following Baidu's inter city post bar in Guangdong. Because compared with other places, the news there is faster, and there must be insiders there, although the more inside things are said, the shorter it will be. Very consistent with that conclusion - the fewer words, the more information.

The four line connection is the wish of many people, but how much passenger flow can the four inter city lines of more than 200 kilometers actually drive? It is an unknown number. It may be very popular in some periods, such as holidays, especially during the Spring Festival. Weekends may also be hot, but on weekdays, can it drive the flow of commuters? Compared with the subway, the intercity price is two or three times that of the subway. The inter city railway of Huizhou, Dongguan, Guangzhou, Foshan and Zhaoqing is probably the most closely connected with the subway in Guangfo South Ring Road. Dongguan, Huizhou, can almost say that there is no subway. I don't know whether Huizhou really has no subway, but Dongguan has no subway. At least for me, who has worked and lived in the towns on the edge of Dongguan for more than ten years, I can't feel the existence of Dongguan subway. Because the nearest subway station is so far away from me, I don't even know where the nearest Dongguan subway station is. The COVID-19 epidemic let me know that there were many towns in Dongguan. I can count the number of districts in Guangzhou, but I can't count the number of towns in Dongguan. How many towns are covered by the Dongguan subway that has been opened? I have to make a question mark. How long did it take Guangzhou to let the subway cover all the districts? I don't know either. At least the subway in Guangzhou now can cover all administrative regions. Although the subway in some administrative regions can only be regarded as arriving, it is far from convenient. Guanhui Intercity has been open for several years. I feel that people there have regarded the intercity as a large subway to a certain extent, but because this large subway is not cheap and can only buy tickets on 12306 before, the ride experience of this large subway is not good. Maybe those who are used to it feel no problem. It is said that the passenger flow of Guanhui is far better than that of Fozhao. In Foshan, especially the area close to Guangzhou, Foshan's subway can cover the area, but the area close to Zhaoqing is temporarily unavailable. But because of this, people there must have been used to driving. The station of this large subway is usually located in some places where birds do not shit. I think one of the reasons for this is that the sound of the train coming into the station is really loud. I had no such feeling before, but a few months ago, when I took a ride in Shunde Station, I really felt that the sound and vibration was too exaggerated. If that station is in the urban area and it is a ground station, it is estimated that all buildings within 100 meters will be noisy. Last Saturday, my mother and I continued our subway tour after coming out of the Guangzhou Maritime Museum and the Nanhai Temple. We first went to Xinsha, the terminal of Line 13, and found nothing on the ground, so we went back to Xintang. After Xintang came out, I was shocked. In front of the subway station was Xintang Railway Station, and next to it was Xintang South Station. Two large stations were almost close together. The two stations were surrounded by various high-rise buildings. I could not imagine how people in those buildings could sleep. But when my mother and I stayed near Xintang, it seemed that we had never encountered a train passing. Is it true that there was no train passing, or is it that their sound insulation and shock prevention are perfect and completely imperceptible?

Intercity stations are located in places where birds do not shit. First of all, they may interfere with people nearby. Second, they want to drive those places where birds do not shit to form various business circles, residential circles, and even various centers. But before these things become climate, it is a hard place to reach. As far as the Machong Station is concerned, it is very conspicuous in terms of geographical location, at the intersection of Shuixiang Avenue and Machong Avenue, beside an overpass. It belongs to Zhangpeng Village, where our unit is located. But Zhangpeng Village is too big. It is at least 6 kilometers from our unit to Machong Station. Foguang Intercity Bus Station will be opened soon, but there is only one south to north intercity bus station nearest to this Machong Station, while there is no bus station on the opposite side of Machong Avenue from north to south. So what can I do if I exit from Machong Station? In terms of planning, theoretically, there is a road that can lead directly to the opposite side, but there is a water road in the middle, and now there is a dead end road. In theory, there is a thing called Landscape Avenue that can lead to Zhangpeng Village, but in fact, it is also a dead end road now. How can I get to this Machong Station? How can I go to the place I want to go after I step out of this Machong? Apart from online car hailing, there is no other choice in terms of current traffic conditions. To cultivate the passenger flow of intercity railway, we should not only focus on the intercity railway itself, but also all the supporting facilities. Machong Station is the only railway in this town. With the opening of this railway, people in this town can go to Guangzhou South Railway Station in 30 minutes instead of four hours.

At least until now, I haven't seen how sincere Machong is to the opening of the intercity railway.
