Since being held in 2016, Jilin Marathon has become a brand event with unique influence, and has been rated as the "Elite Sign" event by the World Athletic Federation. In 2023, "Jima" was also rated as "Typical Case of City Image Media Communication Competition" by China Track and Field Association. One of the characteristics of the event is that the track is set along the Songhua River, and the players race in the beautiful scenery on both sides of the river.
The competition includes full marathon, half marathon and mini marathon categories. In the end, Tesfamichar Haftom Jegai from Ethiopia won the "All Horse" championship in the men's group in 2 hours, 14 minutes and 06 seconds, Kasi Desai Jindi won the second place, and Mejesa Gizo Becker won the third place.
Balaki Gabriela Yohans from Ethiopia won the women's "All Horse" championship in 2:37:42, Hailu Messe Caite won the third place, and Chellop Beatrice Geragat from Kenya won the second place.
Jilin City is the only city with the same name in China. Because the Songhua River passes through the city, it is known as the "Northern River City".
