At about 3:00 am on the 24th local time, a village in Papua New Guinea Nga province was hit by a landslide.

The reporter from the General Radio has learned that the affected village is Kawkaram Village, about 600 kilometers northwest of Port Moresby, the capital of the country. As the incident happened in the early morning, the villagers were sleeping soundly. Local residents said that the estimated death toll exceeded 100. At present, the authorities have not confirmed the number of casualties.

A video released on social media shows that there is no trace of village houses at the landslide, and the surrounding area is full of large and small stones. The obvious cross section of the landslide can be seen from the distant mountain, and some villagers are carrying out rescue at the ruins. (Head Office reporter Liu Zhimin and Wang Shuo)
