In the first quarter of this year, Baosteel bucked the trend, and its total profit continued to maintain the leading position in the domestic industry. At the same time, it gave full play to the advantages of overseas marketing system, and achieved more than 1.5 million tons of export orders.

Auto plate is Baosteel's "gold product", with a market share of more than 50%. Through independent research and development and open joint development and innovation, Baosteel's auto plate business has grown from scratch, and now it can provide users with the most complete variety of auto plate steel in the world.

Gong Tao, director of the Automotive Steel Research Institute of the Central Research Institute of Baosteel, said that Baosteel has always taken technology leadership as the core element to enhance the competitiveness of automobile plates, and has constantly improved the system and mechanism supporting the continuous innovation of automotive steel. With the "State Key Laboratory of Automotive Steel Development and Application Technology" as the platform, the research and development force and resources will be continuously invested.

In April this year, the trial production of ultra-low carbon QP980 steel coil produced by Baosteel was successful, becoming the world's leading third-generation ultra-low carbon ultra-high strength Gippa steel part. This product is produced by adopting the technical route of full scrap electric furnace smelting, and the whole process can achieve about 60% carbon reduction, while meeting the product requirements of ultra-high strength and ultra-high plasticity.

"China's new energy automobile industry can gain a leading edge in the world thanks to its very complete and competitive supply chain system. Among them, our automobile plate business is also constantly pursuing progress," said Bao Ping, chief engineer of Baosteel's automobile plate technology services.

In March this year, the first batch of low carbon emission silicon steel series products produced and supplied in mass production in China were offline in the Silicon Steel Business Department of Baosteel Co., Ltd. This trial production is based on reducing the consumption of ore, coking coal, coke and other raw materials and fuels in the traditional smelting process, taking the full process extreme carbon reduction as the technical core, reducing carbon emissions in the manufacturing process, and achieving the reduction of the carbon footprint of products. According to the preliminary calculation, the low-carbon non oriented silicon steel and low-carbon oriented silicon steel produced in this test have a carbon reduction of more than 30% compared with the original conventional path.

"According to our goal, by 2025, we will have the technological capability to reduce carbon by 30% and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050." Liu Shijun, deputy general manager of Baosteel's Operation Center and deputy director of the Office of Carbon Neutralization, said that the enterprise has formulated a low-carbon product plan to achieve mass reduction for downstream users by producing steel products with higher strength, corrosion resistance and efficiency Longevity and efficiency.

Baosteel has built a smart carbon data platform. The platform includes three core modules: carbon accounting, carbon assets, and carbon footprint. It has become an important quantitative tool for enterprises to track and evaluate carbon emission performance, plan and optimize carbon assets, and accurately disclose carbon information. It can provide a "trace" for every steel product provided by downstream users.

On the one hand, the steel production line has become more green and environmentally friendly, on the other hand, it has become more intelligent. This year is the first year for Baosteel to comprehensively promote AI strategy. Baosteel and Huawei have worked together to explore the application of AI big models in the steel industry. The plan covers many professional fields such as steelmaking, process control and performance prediction, research and development of new steel grades, risk prevention and control, and promotes the intelligent upgrading of steel production processes.

"The auto board production line has realized AI main operation, which can process more than 800 data and parameters and predict the change of process parameters in the next 30 minutes. The AI main operator will directly send the adjusted instructions to the relevant control system to complete millisecond level real-time control." Liu Decheng, deputy director in charge of smart manufacturing at Baosteel Cold Rolling Plant, said that the application of AI main operations has improved the production capacity and production data of some products.

In the next three years, Baosteel will create more than 1000 AI enabling application scenarios, and more than 100 organizations will realize AI transformation and development of the whole system.
