Recently, the reporter learned from Guangxi Mu Lun National Nature Reserve that the scientific research team of South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences found a new global species in the reserve, Hechi Takaoteng, which was recently published in Taxon, the international journal of plant taxonomy.

In 2021, the staff of Guangxi Mulun National Nature Reserve found the plant in Zhonglun area of the reserve. After several years of field exploration with the scientific research team of South China Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences, it was finally confirmed that the plant was a new group of leguminous plants Dezhaoteng, which had never been recorded in previous literature. According to the origin of its type specimen, Hechi City, It is named "Takaoteng Hechi". This species is mainly distributed in limestone mountain areas of Guangxi and Guizhou in China. According to the IUCN standard, based on specimen studies and field observations in recent years, only three populations were found.

Takashi Kawakami is a large woody vine with cylindrical stems, glabrous to sparsely pubescent, and dark brown and ascending hairs at its nodes. The tendrils are opposite and densely pilose. Single leaf, deeply dichotomous, 1/2 to 2/3 deep, with a small cusp about 2mm long in the middle, and the tip of the lobe is round and blunt. The leaf blade is 1.3 to 4.2 cm long, 1.7 to 4.9 cm wide, and its base is heart-shaped.

The discovery of Dechao Teng in Hechi has not only enriched the diversity of plants in Guangxi Mu Lun National Nature Reserve, but also provided valuable research materials for the botanical community, which is of great significance for in-depth understanding of plant evolution and ecological environment.
