On the same day, Qinfeng Weilong Huanghuai Wheat New Variety Recommendation Meeting in 2024 was held in Yangling. This wheat variety is excellent in disease resistance and lodging resistance. " It is understood that Xinong 162 is a new medium strong gluten variety bred by Professor Ji Wanquan's team of Northwest A&F University of Science and Technology and passed the national approval last year. It is a semi winter variety, suitable for planting in Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and other places.

At Yangling Weilong R&D Center, the main character of the "stage" became Xinong 962. Feng Yi, an associate professor of Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology, introduced the breeding process of this variety: "This variety was bred by pedigree method, which was officially approved by Shaanxi Province last year, and was tested in Henan, Anhui, Shaanxi and other places, showing very outstanding performance."

Feng Yi summarized the advantages of Xinong 962 as high yield, high quality, and farmers do not worry about selling grain. "In our regional trials, there have been many points with an output of more than 750 kg per mu, which fully shows that this variety of wheat has the potential to produce more than 800 kg per mu. In terms of quality, Xinong 962 has reached the standard of high quality, medium strength and gluten," said Feng Yi, "Xinong 962 develops slowly in spring, which can effectively resist the low temperature and freezing injury in spring. After heading, it has high grouting efficiency and fast maturity, and can also avoid adverse weather effects such as' dry hot wind '."

Then, the delegation went to the wheat base in the Innovation Park of Yangling Modern Agricultural Demonstration Park. The dry land wheat Xinong 530 here attracted the attention of the observer group.

"Xinong 530 was bred in Yangling and Xianyang Yongshou. The wheat field we observed today used only 6 kg seeds per mu of land, but the growth was very pleasant." Dong Yongli, a wheat breeding expert, told reporters, "After the observation, several dealers chased me for seeds."

Wang Yong, the general manager of Xianyang Zhaofengyuan Agriculture Co., Ltd., is the seed dealer of Weilong Company in Qianxian County, and has participated in new wheat varieties recommendation meetings for many times. "I have promoted Weilong 169 in Qianxian County for four years, and the effect is very good." Wang Yong said, "I pay more attention to Xinong 962 this time, and hope to further cooperate."
