Over the years, his footsteps have not only covered the prosperous cities and quiet villages on the map, but also deeply imprinted on the mountains, witnessed and participated in the glorious process of many "Tibet" gas fields and wells in these lofty mountains from scratch.

Fang Jin, the winner of "National May Day Labor Medal" in 2024, is the mine manager and senior engineer of Chongqing Gas Mine of Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company. After 33 years of hard work on the road of "striving for gas and refueling" for the country, he has shouldered major responsibilities and missions for many times, from building and managing the "underground granary" of natural gas, to leading the gas mines in northwest Sichuan to achieve historical transcendence, to achieving the company's only production base of "simultaneous development of oil and gas" of "more than 10 million tons"; Now, we are shouldering the heavy task of bottoming out and rebounding the natural gas output of Chongqing Gas Mine and creating new brilliance... Fang Jin knows that "to produce more energy 'food' and secure the energy 'rice bowl'" should not only be a guide to action, but also be practiced with the spirit of hard work and innovation.

As a native of Chongqing, Fang Jin has formed a forthright and forthright character under the influence of the land of Bayu since childhood.

In 1991, after graduating from the oil production engineering major of Southwest Petroleum Institute, Fang Jin joined PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gas Field East Sichuan Development Company (now Chongqing Gas Mine) and became an intern engineering technician of the third gas production team.

"At that time, my workplace was located in Xinglong Station in the mountains." Fang Jin recalled that when he first entered the workplace, he was full of curiosity and longing for the industry and was ready to meet challenges. However, the intense, hard and lonely working environment, as well as the obvious gap between what he learned in school and the actual work needs, still brought him unprecedented challenges and tests.

Fang Jin clearly remembers that before entering his post, his parents told him to "treat every job with the spirit of 'not afraid of hardship, fatigue and difficulties'". This sentence has become a "beacon" of Fang Jin's career, guiding him to understand the true meaning of "discovering new landscapes in challenges".

Under the encouragement of his parents and the careful guidance of mentors, Fang Jin came to the fore in 1992. A QC project he participated in on gas production surface process innovation won the prize, which also indicates that his career has a good start.

In 2003, Fang Jin successively served as the Chief Engineer of Chongqing Gas Field Surface Process Overhaul Project Department, Deputy Head of Gas Field Development Department and other posts through competitive employment, becoming the technical leader of Chongqing Gas Field, leading the team to overcome one technical problem after another, and promoting the innovation and optimization of gas production process, It has also brought a number of technological achievements with independent intellectual property rights to the company, improving its core competitiveness.

In 2005, Fang Jin was transferred to the Planning Section. In the face of the new working environment and challenges, although he felt uneasy, he quickly adapted to the new role. Although the technical post is different from the planning post, it requires him to exert his professional ability and innovative thinking. Fang Jin said that planning posts should not only solve technical problems, but also consider economic benefits to find the optimal solution to problems

From intern technician to chief engineer to head of planning and planning section, when encountering difficulties in the process of working at the grass-roots level, "discovering scenery in the challenge" has become the source of power to motivate Fang Jin to "cross mountains and mountains", and has also stimulated his creativity and innovative thinking.

Build a good "gas granary" and make full use of "storage articles"

In 2011, Xiangguosi Gas Storage, the first underground gas storage in southwest China, officially started construction. The heavy burden of how to build the "underground granary" of natural gas fell to Fang Jin, who was then the deputy head of Chongqing Gas Mine.

Faced with multiple challenges such as long construction front, multiple cross operations and strict safety control, Fang Jin showed extraordinary perseverance and determination. In the critical stage of project construction, during the daytime, he and his team respectively sink to each construction site to find problems and ensure the quality, safety and progress of the project; At night, he called the team to deal with the problems found on site in a timely manner according to the design and standards. This "white plus black" and "5+2" working mode makes him the "desperate sarro" in the eyes of his colleagues.

Zhang Ao, a senior engineer of Chongqing Gas Mine Infrastructure Engineering Department who participated in the construction of the gas storage, said that Fang Jin strives to perfect every management detail. Faced with unprecedented challenges, he led the team to "cross the river by feeling the stones", accurately set a schedule, and strictly control key nodes and project quality. In the face of major decisions, he always takes a decisive responsibility and leads the team forward.

On June 29, 2013, the gas storage was successfully injected for the first time, marking a phased victory for Fang Jin and his team. However, a new challenge also follows - how to do enough "storage article".

At that time, Fang Jin, who has many years of experience in multi position, multi field field management and overall deployment, was appointed as the head of Xiangguosi Gas Storage Management Office. "As the" underground bank "of natural gas, the gas storage should not only be available at the critical moment, but also be able to control all kinds of risks." After taking office, Fang Jin proposed the goal of building a "benchmark gas storage of PetroChina" in combination with the actual situation of the gas storage management office; Build a high-quality, united and harmonious gas storage professional team; Focusing on safety, environmental protection and benefit operation; Highlight the four working principles of "changing the concept, strengthening the foundation, improving quality and focusing on details".

During Fang Jin's tenure, all employees of the Gas Storage Management Office worked together to achieve the goal. They have achieved remarkable energy saving and emission reduction effects through direct power trading, strengthening pigging operations, rational use of compressor clearance and other measures, saving more than 6 million yuan of electricity for gas storage every year. At the same time, by optimizing the operation process and improving the operation efficiency, the highest gas injection volume was 12.74 million m3 and the highest gas recovery volume was 21.97 million m3/day. At the same time, the Xiangguosi gas storage project also won the silver medal of the national high-quality project, creating a series of remarkable achievements and milestones.

Continuously playing the march of "fighting for our country"

In 2018, Fang Jin once again shouldered a new mission as the head of Northwest Sichuan Gas Mine of Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company. In the face of new challenges, he led the team to set the "4251" goal, that is, to accelerate the exploration and development of the four major blocks, achieve the double historical transcendence of reserves and production, and strive to explore 500 billion resources and build 10 billion gas areas during the "14th Five Year Plan" period.

Fang Jin told the reporter that Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company proposed to build a 30 billion natural gas strategic atmosphere area by 2020, while the historical maximum gas production of Northwest Sichuan gas mine was 1.423 billion cubic meters at that time. "To resonate with the company's goals at the same frequency, the gas production must have breakthrough development."

In his view, to solve the problem of enterprise development, we must emancipate our minds and innovate boldly. Driven by Fang Jin, Northwest Sichuan Gas Field has not only set up a reward fund for grass-roots units, breaking the "egalitarianism", but also launched a targeted reward policy for efficiency enhancement, which has stimulated the enthusiasm of employees. In addition, he also proposed a series of innovative measures, such as setting up "controlled management posts", promoting the application of new technologies and processes, optimizing the contract approval process, etc., which provided a strong guarantee for the efficient operation of the gas mine.

In 2020, the northwest Sichuan gas field will usher in a historic breakthrough, with the annual output of natural gas reaching 1.932 billion m3 and the profit exceeding 1 billion yuan.

With the continuous expansion of his career, Fang Jin is increasingly aware of the importance of "emancipating the mind, bold innovation, and bold responsibility".

In 2021, when Fang Jin took over as the head of the Central Sichuan Oil and Gas Mine, he quickly focused on the goal of "more than 10 million tons" and proposed the working idea of "governing the Dragon King in the Dragon King Temple, digging gold for tight oil and gas, developing party flags in Penglai Gas Field, and cultivating the future to welcome Daqing". The problem of water control and drainage in Longwangmiao Formation gas reservoir has been successfully solved, and a new mode of producing tight gas in central Sichuan has been formed that can be copied and popularized. At the same time, the abundant underground resources in Penglai Gas Field will be converted into actual production, and a talent development and management system with core competitiveness will be established.

In 2023, good news came from Chuanzhong Oil and Gas Mine: the oil and gas output equivalent once again exceeded 10 million tons, and the oil and gas output reached a new record high. Faced with this achievement, Fang Jin was also excited, his eyes shining with pride and determination.

Now, Fang Jin is once again carrying the banner in the critical period of producing 3 billion yuan of gas in Chongqing. He said in an extremely firm tone: "No matter how arduous the task is, our belief and determination to" fight for our country "have always been firm and unshakable."
