"The last train will arrive at the station soon. Let's get ready to start." At 11:00 p.m. on April 17, Wei Henan and his colleagues entered the track of Metro Line 1 and began the night patrol.
The subway signal system is a key system integrating traffic command and traffic operation control, which is directly related to the operation safety, operation efficiency and service quality. It is the "central nerve" commanding the subway operation, and the signal technician is the surgeon of the subway "nervous system".
"When I first got down to the subway track, I was very curious. Later, when I walked, I began to feel another kind of loneliness." Seven years ago, Wei Henan became a signal technician of Metro Line 1. Due to the particularity of his work, his working hours are somewhat reversed, and his figure always appears in the underground of the city after the subway is shut down and all lights are gradually extinguished.
As an important signal infrastructure equipment, the switch machine is responsible for controlling the direction of the turnout and helping the train complete turn back, line switching and other operations. Six groups of switch machines in the turn back station of Metro Line 1 control the rail movement nearly 300 times a day. Uncovering, fastening, measuring, lubricating and oiling, parameter adjustment, electronic control testing... The tools kept changing in Wei Hennan's hands, like a surgical operation, with tight rhythm and precise process. In the routine maintenance, there are many overhaul items involved in the switch machine. Just to accurately master the operating procedures, he needs to form a strengthened memory through a lot of practical training, and constantly improve the operating efficiency. "My main task is to carry out maintenance, overhaul and emergency rescue for the signal equipment of Metro Line 1, find out the unsafe factors and inaccurate data in the operation of the equipment, and overcome them." To ensure the safe operation of the equipment, Wei Henan will carry out a systematic overhaul of six groups of switch machines every week, "Today's task is to overhaul the turnout once a week."
Open the machine cover, observe whether the lubrication degree is good, tighten the screws, measure the electrical characteristics... In the track area, with the turnout interaction, the tool kit in hand weighs about 20 kg, and there are countless squats in between. "The action voltage is 382V, in line with the standard" "The switch rail is closely attached to the stock rail, less than 0.5mm, in line with the standard" "Switch opening range, in line with the standard"... After a series of repeated tests, the various data of the switch meet the standard. Weihe man quickly cleaned the oil sludge on the track equipment with a small shovel, brushed new engine oil, and went to the next group of switch machines.
The sound of equipment at the operation site is very noisy, and colleagues have to raise the volume when communicating with each other. They are always thirsty at night, and need to drink several large glasses of water. At 4 a.m., the overnight inspection was over. Wei Henan and his colleagues took the first subway to the signal equipment rooms at the stations along the line to check whether the equipment was working properly. When asked what supported him in his position as a signal technician for seven years, Wei Henan told reporters that whenever he heard passengers say thank you, his heart was filled with pride of "the subway makes the city better".
April showers bring May flowers. As a subway signal technician, Wei Henan has always been on standby for 24-hour emergency repair, and has completed various emergency repair tasks for many times with excellent technology. Led the establishment of a departmental innovation studio, trained 5 senior engineers, 10 engineers, 1 senior technician, 4 technicians, 2 technicians, 118 senior engineers, 274 intermediate workers, obtained 29 national patents, 6 computer software copyrights, and saved the company about 859200 yuan in equipment procurement costs by carrying out independent maintenance for faulty parts for half a year. In 2022, the studio was named "Wei Henan Innovation Studio", and was awarded the Innovation Studio for Model Worker and Craftsman Talents in Shijiazhuang, and the Worker Pioneer in Shijiazhuang.
"There is no room for carelessness in this work." There are 15 signal technicians in Wei Henan's work area, 80% of whom are not more than 30 years old. "The subway is different from driving.
