Shen Fei, 44, was filled with pride when he saw the domestic "Fuxing" high-speed railway train speeding at more than 300 kilometers per hour in the spring of southern Anhui. The first train wheel of New China was born in Masteel. In 1995, Shen Fei, who was only 17 years old, walked into the workshop of Maanshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. The first thing he knew was that wheels are the pride of all Maanshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. In the front line, he started from machining work, and he has successively experienced in many posts such as ordinary horizontal lathe, vertical lathe and CNC lathe. He pays attention to details and pursues the ultimate and perfect work style, which makes him stand out quickly with superb machining skills and win prizes in various numerical control skill competitions in Anhui Province.
Entering a new era, China's railway is developing rapidly. Behind every large-scale speed increase, excellent wheel products are needed to provide important support. In 2012, Shen Fei, who has grown into a senior technician in numerical control processing of Masteel Jiaocai Wheel Axle Factory, never forgot his pride in Masteel wheels at the age of 17. He made it his goal to overcome the problem of machining the wheel engine of the domestic "Fuxing" high-speed railway with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. "To ensure the mass production of domestic high-speed railway wheels and improve their quality and upgrade in the future, we must overcome this problem," he said.
Over the years, it has become Shen Fei's consciousness and habit to be a pioneer and set an example when facing "urgent, difficult and dangerous" tasks in his work. In his selfless research and hard work, Shen Fei led his team to overcome the machining problem of the homemade "Fuxing" high-speed railway wheel with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and promoted the mass production of homemade high-speed railway wheels. Later, he continued to participate in the production and certification processing of high-power locomotive wheels, Korean quasi high-speed wheels, German DE920K and other high-speed wheel projects. He is still going forward at a high speed - launching an impact on the research and development of elastic wheels necessary for realizing green and low noise in China's rail transit industry.
As a new product of rail transit, elastic wheels have rubber parts in their structure, which reduces noise and can help urban rail transit achieve green and low noise, but at the same time, their special structure poses greater challenges to production and manufacturing. Magang has no experience in manufacturing such wheels before 2018.
The research and development road that is far from smooth has made Shen Fei more ambitious. "We should not only ensure that our wheels run fast and steadily, but also let our rail transit fulfill its commitment to environmental protection," he said. With this as the goal, Shenyang Aircraft led the team to tackle key problems in the production of flexible wheels for two years, so that more than 10 varieties of small batch flexible wheels can be produced. In 2021, the first batch of 840 metro elastic wheels in China, which Shenyang Aircraft is responsible for machining and press fitting processes, will be put into trial operation in Hefei Metro, Anhui Province, marking that China's rail transit industry has reached a higher level in practicing green and low-noise.

For more than 20 years, Shenyang Aircraft has won the honors of "Technical Expert" of Anhui Province, Anhui May Day Labor Medal, Anhui New Strategic Industry Leading Talent, Provincial Skill Award, etc. Now, Shen Fei is the chief technician of Ma'anshan City, the leader of Ma'anshan City Skilled Master Studio and Anhui Province Skilled Master Studio, the winner of the first Jianghuai Famous Craftsman in Anhui Province, and the "Distinguished Professor" of numerical control specialty of Anhui Metallurgical Technology Vocational College.
As the leader of the provincial and municipal skill master studio, Shen Fei took the work site as the soil and technological innovation as the nourishment to reap fruitful results: in the past five years, he has made more than 27 innovative achievements, which have created huge economic and social benefits while solving the on-site problems for enterprises. A single branch is not spring. Shen Fei said, "The two things that make me feel most successful are the recognition of the product and the common progress of the team. Seeing young people become senior technicians makes me feel that our future is full of hope." The cultivation of talent echelon is the hope of industry development, and it is also what Shen Fei has always been doing. By the end of 2021, Shenyang Aircraft has trained more than 710 CNC skilled personnel, bringing out many "top performers" and "skilled experts".
