II Examination subjects

In 2024, the subjects of the examination for registered urban and rural planners will be: Principles of Urban and Rural Planning Knowledge of Urban and Rural Planning 、 Urban and Rural Planning Management and Regulations And Urban and Rural Planning Practice. The exam time for Planning Practice is 3 hours, and that for the remaining subjects is 2.5 hours.

III Question Types

The examination questions of the principles of urban and rural planning, related knowledge, management and regulations are all objective questions, and candidates need to answer on the answer card. The practical examination of urban and rural planning is the main topic. There are 7 major questions in total. Except for the second major question, which is 10 points, the other six major questions are all 15 points, a total of 100 points.

The full score of the four subjects in the urban and rural planner examination is 100, and 60 points is qualified. The examination results of urban and rural planners can be saved for 4 years in a rolling manner. Candidates only need to pass all subjects within 4 years.

If the following conditions are met, you can apply for the examination of registered urban and rural planners in 2024:

（1） All citizens of the People's Republic of China who abide by national laws and regulations, strictly abide by professional ethics, and meet one of the following conditions can apply for taking the professional qualification examination for registered urban and rural planners:

1. Obtain a college degree in urban and rural planning, and have been engaged in urban and rural planning business for at least 4 years;

2. Obtain a bachelor's degree or degree in urban and rural planning, or a bachelor's degree in architecture (professional degree), and have been engaged in urban and rural planning business for at least 3 years;

3. Obtain a bachelor's degree or degree in urban and rural planning that has passed professional evaluation (certification), and have been engaged in urban and rural planning business for at least 2 years;

4. Obtain a master's degree in urban and rural planning or a master's degree in architecture (professional degree), and have been engaged in urban and rural planning business for at least one year;

5. Obtained a master's degree in urban and rural planning or a master's degree in urban planning (professional degree) through professional evaluation (certification), and engaged in urban and rural planning business for at least one year;

6. Obtained a doctor's degree in urban and rural planning.

In addition to the circumstances specified above, the length of work in the urban and rural planning business of the personnel who have obtained the corresponding education or degree in other professions shall be increased by one year.

（2） Those who have passed the national unified examination and obtained the qualification certificate of first-class certified public architect and meet the registration conditions for the professional qualification examination of registered urban and rural planners in the Regulations on the Professional Qualification System for Registered Urban and Rural Planners (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations) can be exempted from the examination of the subjects of Principles of Urban and Rural Planning and Knowledge Related to Urban and Rural Planning, and only participate in the Urban and Rural Planning Management and Regulations And Urban and Rural Planning Practice.

（3） Those who have obtained a master's degree in urban and rural planning or a master's degree in urban planning (professional degree) through professional evaluation (certification), or a doctor's degree in urban and rural planning, and have been engaged in urban and rural planning business for more than one year, can be exempted from the subject of "Principles of Urban and Rural Planning" and only participate in "Urban and Rural Planning Management and Regulations", "Knowledge Related to Urban and Rural Planning" and "Urban and Rural Planning Practice" 3 subjects.

1. Before the Ministry of Education issued the Catalogue of Undergraduate Specialties of Ordinary Institutions of Higher Learning (2012), the undergraduate degree or degree of "urban planning" issued by institutions of higher learning was equivalent to the undergraduate degree or degree of "urban and rural planning" in Article 8 of the Regulations.

Before the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education issued the Academic Degrees Award and Talent Cultivation Discipline Catalog (2011), the corresponding master's and doctoral degrees in "urban planning" or "urban planning and design" issued by colleges and universities were equivalent to the corresponding master's and doctoral degrees in "urban and rural planning" in Article 8 of the Regulations.

2. The "bachelor's degree in architecture (professional degree)" and "master's degree in architecture (professional degree)" in Article 8 of the Regulations refer to professional degrees of corresponding levels in architecture issued by higher education institutions authorized by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council within the authorization period according to the Program for Setting Professional Degrees in Architecture issued by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, including "bachelor's degree in architecture" And "Master of Architecture", excluding bachelor's degree of engineering, master's degree of engineering and master's degree of engineering in the field of architecture and civil engineering.

"Master's Degree in Urban Planning (Professional Degree)" refers to the professional degree of "Master's Degree in Urban Planning" issued by institutions of higher learning authorized by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council within the authorization period.
