Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference this morning. Zhu Fenglian, spokesman of the Taiwan Affairs Office, presided over the press conference.
Fujian Straits Satellite TV: The Japanese government recently said that, considering the concerns about China's marine activities and the so-called "Taiwan's affairs", it decided to designate 16 airports and ports in Hokkaido, Okinawa and other places as "airport ports for specific use", and to revise and expand them. What is your comment on Japan's increasingly obvious intention to intervene in the Taiwan Strait situation?
Zhu Fenglian: There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. This is a fact confirmed by a series of international treaties and documents, such as the Cairo Declaration in 1943, the Potsdam Proclamation in 1945, and the General Assembly resolution 2758 in 1971. It is also a serious commitment made by Japan in the four political documents of China and Japan. Japan is historically responsible for the Taiwan issue. It should reflect deeply on history, learn lessons, and handle Taiwan related issues carefully and properly. (Editor/Li Ning)
