Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference this morning. Zhu Fenglian, spokesman of the Taiwan Affairs Office, presided over the press conference.
Xiamen Satellite TV, Fujian: General Secretary Xi Jinping met with Ma Yingjiu and his delegation in Beijing on the 10th, saying that "we sincerely invite Taiwan compatriots to visit the mainland more often, and we are happy to see the mainland people visit the island of the motherland more". Does this mean that the mainland will consider opening mainland residents to Taiwan for tourism?
Zhu Fenglian: General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech reflects the common aspiration of compatriots on both sides of the Straits to get closer and closer, and to constantly deepen the integration and development of the two sides of the Straits. Although there are still some artificial obstacles and obstacles to cross Strait exchanges and cooperation on the island, we believe that as long as compatriots on both sides work together to remove obstacles, cross Strait exchanges and cooperation will usher in a bright future. We will take positive measures to promote cross Straits exchanges and cooperation in various fields, including tourism. (Editor/Li Ning)
