On May 20, www.taiwan.com.cn, the characters of the Red Mansions were carved in paper cuts one by one, and the handmade flower tags of the Red Mansions were made one by one... This is not an experience project in the Grand View Garden, but an experimental classroom of Zhang Yuming, a young lecturer in Taiwan, Guangxi.

Zhang Yuming, from Taipei, used to teach in Taiwan's Banqiao High School, and as the core teacher of the New North Curriculum Development Center, he was responsible for curriculum research and development and the comparative study of Chinese teaching materials and methods across the Taiwan Straits.
Zhang Yuming's affinity with the mainland of China began in 2017. In order to complete the doctoral thesis of Comparative Research on the Film and Television of the Three "Dream of Red Mansions" on both sides of the Straits, she came to Beijing alone and visited Hu Wenbin, the deputy editor in chief of the 87 version of the Dream of Red Mansions, and Zhang Qingshan, the general organizer of the 2010 version of the Dream of Red Mansions Literature and the president of the Chinese Dream of Red Mansions Society. In addition, accompanied by teachers from the Beijing High School Teaching and Research Center, she also visited several high schools in Beijing and gained a deeper understanding and understanding of Chinese teaching in high schools across the Taiwan Straits.
This study visit also became "an important turning point in life" for Zhang Yuming, and opened "a door to a new world" for her. After completing his study visit to the mainland and returning to Taiwan, Zhang Yuming not only made many speeches, but also published teaching materials related to teaching research, which were popularized and applied in dozens of high schools in Taiwan. She said: "In the past, I thought that Taiwan had done a good job in the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture, but when I came to the mainland, I saw a different world and saw the glory of the renaissance of Chinese culture."
Taking part in the talent introduction team that went to Guangxi for investigation, Zhang Yuming resolutely said goodbye to the comfort zone of ten years of teaching in Taiwan and came to Guangxi Normal University in 2019 to become a college teacher with official staffing. She believes that finding a job in mainland universities is more vital than in Taiwan. "To study and spread Chinese culture, coming to the mainland is the best choice."
In particular, her love for Redology has become the eternal theme of her teaching practice and research. As a member of the Chinese Dream of Red Mansions Society and a Taiwanese teacher of the School of Arts of Guangxi Normal University, Zhang Yuming has planned and founded the Dream of Red Mansions "New Liberal Arts Construction Teaching Practice" in Guangxi Normal University for two consecutive years, leading students to read the Dream of Red Mansions in an immersive way.
This year's course also invited members of the Guangxi Normal University Paper Cutting Association to join in, making the characters in the Red Mansions vivid. In addition, many international students were found in the activity, including those from Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Vietnam and other places, who gathered with mainland students.

In the song and dance performance of the Red Chamber, Zhang Yuming led the students to make the flower stick of Dream of the Red Chamber, so that the students could feel the essence of the dream of the Red Chamber in their own way, "as if they could travel through time and space to taste the elegance of the people in the dream of the Red Chamber". And with the clue of handmade swabs, this paper discusses the Chinese traditional culture, A Dream of Red Mansions. She said: "Culture is the best connection between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits, which is soft and touching. I also believe that the Red Chamber is the best language in telling good Chinese stories to both sides of the Taiwan Straits and the world."
The compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits share the same root, the same language, and empathy for Chinese culture. The emotions and strength of this cultural connection have been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people on both sides of the Straits for a long time, and have become the strongest and most lasting link between the two sides of the Straits. Promote the integration and development of the two sides of the Taiwan Straits, and realize the spiritual harmony of compatriots. Culture is also the best language. (By Wang Bowei)
