Beijing, April 28 (www.taiwan.cn) -- The delegation of public opinion representatives of the Chinese Kuomintang paid a visit to the All China Taiwan Enterprise Confederation on the afternoon of April 28, and had a discussion with the main conference officials of the All China Taiwan Enterprise Confederation and representatives of Taiwan businessmen.
Li Zhenghong, president of the All China Federation of Taiwan Enterprises, said in the forum that the economic exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits have achieved remarkable results, and Taiwan businessmen have made great progress in the mainland. The compatriots on both sides of the Straits are brothers and sisters. Only close exchanges and cooperation can benefit the people's livelihood on both sides of the Straits. The DPP authorities set up various obstacles for cross-strait exchanges and cooperation in the name of "resistance to China", which cannot be achieved without popular support. It is hoped that the public opinion representatives of the Kuomintang can reflect the firm position of Taiwan businessmen on the mainland to maintain the peaceful development of cross Straits relations on the basis of the 1992 Consensus, promote the removal of barriers to cross Straits exchanges and cooperation, and do more good things for the benefit of compatriots on both sides of the Straits.
The public opinion representatives of the delegation responded to the concerns of Taiwan businessmen attending the meeting. Fu Jiji said that the KMT's trip to break the barriers of the DPP authorities is to promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and urge the DPP authorities to open up normal cross-strait exchanges as soon as possible. In the current complex and severe external environment, the peaceful and stable development of the two sides of the Straits has attracted much attention, bearing the common aspirations of compatriots on both sides of the Straits, and should be respected and cherished by all parties. The 1992 Consensus is the basis for cross Straits exchanges and cooperation. On this basis, the two sides have carried out exchanges and cooperation in various fields with fruitful results. The majority of Taiwanese businessmen have taken root and developed in the mainland, which is the best embodiment of the concerted efforts of compatriots on both sides of the Straits to jointly cope with the complex and severe external environment. The compatriots on both sides of the Straits belong to the Chinese nation, share the same root and origin, share the same ancestor and culture, and should share the glory of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. People to people exchanges and economic and trade exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits should not be artificially restricted.
