On May 13, www.taiwan.com.cn, comprehensive Taiwan media reported that some time had passed since the 2024 election of leaders and representatives of the people in Taiwan, and the topic of the "nine in one" election in the island in 2026 and the 2028 election of leaders in Taiwan had begun again. Han Guoyu, the head of Taiwan's legislative body, has maintained a high reputation since taking office, and Lu Xiuyan, the mayor of Taichung, has also been gaining momentum.
In this regard, Chen Shuibian said that Han Guoyu will be the "biggest variable" of the island's "nine in one" election in 2026, which may drive the "Korean Wave" to rise again. He said that now Han Guoyu can be said to be the "king of heaven" of the Chinese Kuomintang, especially since he was originally popular and now is the head of Taiwan's legislature, "Kaohsiung City is the first to bear the brunt, and Tainan City is the second".
Shen Fuxiong, the former representative of the People's Republic of China, believes that four years later, in the 2028 leadership election in Taiwan, there has been an "informal consensus" within the Chinese Kuomintang that it is Lu Xiuyan's turn to stand for election. He believed that Lu Xiuyan should learn from Ke Wenzhe, Chairman of the People's Party, the wise men in the island who were elected by sea, and put forward creative and better views on cross-strait policies than the Democratic Progressive Party.
