Taiwan. com, April 30, according to Taiwan's China Times, the Taiwan authorities' "General Accounting Office" released statistics on the distribution of family wealth in 2021 on the 29th. The wealth of the whole Taiwan family is divided into five equal parts from low to high. The gap between the top and bottom 20% of families is 66.9 times, compared with the 16.8 times announced 30 years ago, the gap between rich and poor is beyond imagination.
Statistics show that the average net asset value of each household is 16.38 million yuan (NT $, the same below). In the richest 20% of households, the average net asset value per household is 51.33 million yuan, holding nearly 62.68% of the wealth of the whole. In contrast, the poorest 20% of households, the average net asset value per household is only 770000 yuan, 66.9 times the difference between the two.
Yin Naiping, a professor of the Department of Finance at Taiwan University of Political Science, pointed out that in recent years, under the global monetary easing policy, real estate has risen, stock markets around the country have repeatedly hit new highs, and the Taiwan Stock Index has widened the gap between rich and poor after reaching 20000 points.
It is worth noting that the average debt of each household in the last 20% is up to 4.05 million yuan, and high debt is the reason why they fall into poverty. The official of Taiwan's statistics department said that the debt of this ethnic group is too high. The average debt of each household is up to 4.05 million yuan, much higher than the average debt of 2.2 million yuan for all households. It may come from housing loans or borrowing to invest in financial assets. This phenomenon deserves attention. (Editor/Li Ning)
