On December 22, www.taiwan.com.cn, recently, the 20th anniversary celebration of the "Northern Style" winter camp for Taiwan students of Jilin University and the opening ceremony of the 20th "Northern Style" winter camp were held in the Jingxin Lecture Hall in the central campus of Jilin University. 55 teachers and students from 11 Taiwanese universities, including Fengjia University, Taiwan University and Tamkang University, and 20 volunteers and teachers from Jilin University participated in the activity.

At the opening ceremony, Luo Dingjun, a former camper representative from Taiwan, and Huo Rui, a volunteer representative, shared their stories with the "Northern Customs" winter camp. Luo Dingjun said that it was the experience of winter camp that made him fall in love with the black land in Northeast China, which gave him a new choice for his life development. Huo Rui said that the winter camp closely linked her fate with the Taiwanese campers. Through the winter camp, she gained valuable memories that cannot be copied in her life.

Representatives of the current Taiwan campers, Chen Zongyu and volunteers from Fengjia University and Huai Ziyang from Jilin University made speeches respectively, expressing their expectations and yearnings for the upcoming camp life.

During the event, the 7th Jilin International Ice and Snow Industry Expo was held. Young students on both sides of the Straits will deeply experience the modern ice and snow industry with Jilin characteristics, such as ice and snow tourism, ice and snow sports, and experience the unique charm of northeast culture through academic exchanges, historical and cultural visits, teacher-student exchanges and interactions and other theme activities, so as to create a common memory of "Northern customs" for young students on both sides of the Straits.

It is reported that since 2002, Jilin University has successfully held the 19th "Northern Style" winter camp for Taiwanese students, welcoming more than 3700 teachers and students from 45 universities in Taiwan. (Jointly reported by www.taiwan.cn and the Taiwan Affairs Office of Jilin Province)
