On the 12th local time, the Sudanese armed forces and rapid support forces, both sides of the Sudanese armed conflict, continued to exchange fire in several areas of the capital Khartoum. The Sudanese humanitarian relief group "Emergency Room" said that a shelling attack on a residential area in southern Khartoum had killed six people.
The Rapid Support Force said the same day that the Sudanese Armed Forces used heavy artillery to bomb the presidential palace in the center of the city, causing the old Republican Palace of the presidential palace to catch fire. The soldiers of the Rapid Support Force, who controlled the presidential palace, then put out the fire. The Sudanese Armed Forces have not responded to this.
On April 15, 2023, an armed conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Force broke out in Khartoum, the capital, and then spread to other areas, and has continued to this day. The Presidential Palace was controlled by the rapid support forces at the beginning of the conflict, and had been bombed and shelled many times. (Head Office reporter Zhao Yuanyuan)
