The day before yesterday (May 21), the "Rolling Immortals" parade activity of the sixth Jiangnan Culture and Arts · International Tourism Festival "Joy in Jiangnan" was held in Shilu Business District. This "Rolling Immortals" parade creates a new way of parade integrating dynamic performance and static display, which shows the vitality of traditional culture. Jin Jie, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and head of the Publicity Department, Fang Wenbang, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, secretary of the Gusu District Party Committee, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Suzhou National Historic and Cultural City Reserve, and Zha Yingdong, vice mayor, attended the event.

The "rolling immortals" with a history of more than 800 years is a living inheritance of Wu culture, which was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2014. As the highlight of the activity of "Rolling Immortals", this year's parade brought together resources from all over the city with a strong lineup: 21 parade teams from large cities, nearly 400 people came to the scene to help, integrate elements such as Jiangnan culture and intangible cultural heritage culture, and present a folk cultural festival of intangible cultural heritage for citizens and tourists.

The wonderful folk performances of intangible cultural heritage comprehensively demonstrated the charm of Suzhou's traditional culture, attracting the citizens and tourists present to rush into favorable viewing points and take out their mobile phones to record beautiful moments. Liu Xiaoxin, a tourist from Henan Province, said, "It's really worthwhile to see so many traditional cultural elements of Suzhou on the spot."

It is understood that this year's folk culture activity of "rolling immortals" was hosted by the Administrative Committee of Suzhou National Historic and Cultural City Protection Zone, and undertaken by the Publicity Department of the CPC Gusu District Committee, the Education, Sports and Cultural Tourism Committee of Gusu District, and Jinchang Street of Gusu District. The theme of the activity is "rolling immortals, enjoying happiness", and the main line is the construction of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt. It deeply explores the era value of traditional folk culture, and adds new momentum to the integration and development of culture, business and tourism.
