Ammonia valve, which is worthy of its name, is a special valve for liquid ammonia, a special valve for ammonia gas, also known as ammonia valve. The ammonia valve has welding, thread and flange form:
The welding form is mainly used in the refrigeration equipment. The valve body is precision forged or rolled with rigid plates, and the applied pressure is usually below 2.5 MPa. The welding form is used to prevent too many interfaces from leaking points.
The thread type is basically the connecting pipe of the liquid ammonia tank, or the thin pipe below 1.6MPa. The advantage is that it is not necessary to cut the steel pipe to replace the valve. It can be removed and replaced directly with a pipe wrench, which is much more convenient than welding.
The flange type is applicable to the range of 2.5MPa~4.0MPa. The connecting flange is F/concave, and the pipe flange is M/convex. The connection method is called concave convex flange, male female flange, and female female buckle flange. The concave convex form of the connecting flange is used to prevent the sealing gasket of the middle connection from being damaged by high pressure and causing leakage at the flange connection.
Working principle of ammonia valve:
Turn the hand wheel counterclockwise to drive the valve stem and disc upward, and the seal leaves the valve seat. When the hand wheel is turned by hand and the valve is felt to be in the fully open position, turn the hand wheel slightly harder to tighten the reverse seal. The valve is opened. The reverse seal is designed to prevent high pipeline pressure, the seal cannot withstand the pressure, and the medium leaks from the valve stem, Or it leaks when the switch turns the handwheel.
Turn the hand wheel clockwise to drive the valve stem and disc downward, the seal presses the valve seat, and after turning the hand wheel manually, feel that the valve is in the fully closed position, then turn the valve slightly harder to close it valve 。
Material selection of ammonia valve:
It is commonly used as WCB cast steel, also known as carbon steel. As carbon steel valves will rust, they are painted before leaving the factory by the valve manufacturer. The paint will fall off during reapplication or in the sun and rain, so regular maintenance is recommended.
In the case of salt corrosion near the sea, CF8/304 or CF8M/316 valves can be selected. Due to the high cost of stainless steel materials, most enterprises choose carbon steel.
