Application overview:
The 166 type excess flow valves are single flanged and belong to overflow check valves. Like the MGM excess flow check valve in the United States, they are equipped with orifices in the disc mechanism to achieve pressure balance, and will automatically reopen after the pressure on both sides of the pipeline is balanced. The flange will fit the bolt pattern of 150 # or 300 # flange. Standard gaskets shall be used on both sides of the valve.

 166 Excess Flow Valves
Operating principle of overflow valve:
  Overflow valve EXCESS FLOW CHECK VALVES is a kind of safety protection valve. It mainly adopts cone type sealing surface. The spring controls the flow, and uses the flow rate and thrust of the medium to control the flow on the pipeline. When the flow pressure on the installation pipeline exceeds the set pressure of the spring, it will automatically close. When it opens automatically, the inlet medium will flow through the small hole on the valve core. After the pressure at both ends is balanced, the spring will automatically retract the valve to open. It is used in non corrosive media such as oil products, liquefied gas, liquid ammonia and gaseous ammonia. It is closed immediately when the flow rate of medium in the pipeline exceeds the set value, and automatically closed when the flow rate of damaged pipeline or accessories is too large to prevent the occurrence or expansion of accidents. It is generally installed at the inlet and outlet of storage tank or pipeline outlet to protect the safety and reliability of downstream equipment.
