The purpose difference between electric ball valve and solenoid valve

The purpose difference between electric ball valve and solenoid valve
Electric ball valve and solenoid valve are both operated by power control switch, and each has different advantages and disadvantages. Electric ball valve has slow switching speed, long service life, fast switching speed of solenoid valve, easy heating and damage of coil, and high requirements for medium cleanliness.

1、 Leakage problem
Ball Valve The action principle is angular travel, double-sided sealing, good sealing performance, not easy to leak. The operating principle of the solenoid valve is straight stroke, or diaphragm or pilot type. The sealing face has very high requirements on the purity of the medium, and impurities in the medium are easy to cause leakage.
2、 Requirements for installation position
There is no requirement for installation angle of electric ball valve. The solenoid valve is a straight stroke action principle, and the sealing needs to be achieved by the force of the gravity of the valve core and the electromagnet, so the solenoid valve can only be installed horizontally, and installation at other angles will cause Solenoid valve leak.
3、 Service life
After the electric ball valve actuator switches in place, the power is cut off by the internal microswitch, and it has a position holding function. It only needs to be powered when it moves. After it is in place, the motor is not charged, and its service life is longer than that of the solenoid valve, and its performance is stable. The opening and closing of the solenoid valve can only be operated by energizing the coil. When the station is held, the coil needs to be energized all the time (for example, the normally closed solenoid valve needs to be opened for a long time). If the coil is energized for a long time, it will heat up, which is easy to cause the coil to burn out. This kind of fault is relatively common.
4、 Protection grade
The actuator of the electric ball valve is protected by the shell, with the protection grade of IP65/IP67. Dust and moisture can hardly corrode the interior of the actuator, and its performance is relatively stable. The solenoid valve has simple structure, low protection level, and is easily affected by external dust, air and temperature.
5、 Cost difference
The electric ball valve is normal pressure for 1.6MPa, and the ball valve can reach 13MPa, and the cost is not very different from 1.6MPa, especially the high pressure cost has great advantages over the solenoid valve. For solenoid valves, the pressure above 1.0MPa is considered as medium and high pressure, and high pressure solenoid valves are generally expensive.
6、 Functional differences
The electric actuator is equipped with a manual operating device, which can manually operate the control valve on/off, without the need to install a bypass for standby. Generally, solenoid valves have no manual operation function, and bypass manual valves need to be installed on the pipeline for standby.
