Happy New Year! On the occasion of bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new, we are very happy to get together, talk about friendship and discuss national justice.
First of all, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the State Council and the Central Military Commission, I would like to extend holiday greetings and sincere wishes to the democratic parties, the Federation of Industry and Commerce and people without party affiliation, the people of all ethnic groups in the country, Hong Kong compatriots, Macao compatriots, Taiwan compatriots and overseas Chinese, and friends from all countries who care about and support China's modernization drive!
2022 is an extremely important year in the development history of the Party and the country. We successfully held the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), drawing a grand blueprint for building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. We adhere to the general tone of seeking progress while maintaining stability, fully implement the new development concept, and promote high-quality development. The economy is operating within a reasonable range. The total economic output is expected to exceed 120 trillion yuan. We will reap a bumper harvest of grain, and maintain employment and price stability. We optimized the prevention and control strategy according to the time and situation, protected people's life safety and health to the greatest extent, and minimized the impact of the epidemic on economic and social development. We successfully hosted the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games. We wish Hong Kong the 25th anniversary of its return to the motherland. We resolutely fought against the secessionist acts of "Taiwan independence" and interference from external forces. We continue to promote major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics and maintain the overall stability of the external environment. These achievements are hard won and are the result of the concerted efforts and tenacious struggles of the whole Party, the whole army and the people of all ethnic groups in China.
This year, Comrade Jiang Zemin died tragically. The whole party, the whole army and the people of all ethnic groups in China were deeply saddened and mourned. They were determined to inherit his legacy and unswervingly push forward the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

In 2022, the CPPCC will conscientiously implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, adhere to the two themes of unity and democracy, adhere to the center and serve the overall situation, adhere to the two-way efforts of advice, investment and consensus building, carry out consultations around the solid promotion of common prosperity, and carry out democratic supervision on ecological and environmental protection of the Yangtze River, making new contributions to the development of the cause of the Party and the country. The democratic parties and the Federation of Industry and Commerce have successively changed their terms of office, elected a new leadership, deepened the political handover, and further consolidated the common ideological and political foundation and organizational foundation of multi-party cooperation.
