On May 6, the Education, Science, Health and Sports Committee of the CPPCC Provincial Committee carried out the second centralized study of the fifth group of the CPPCC Provincial Committee's Xi Jinping Thought Learning Panel on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era and the "Home of Members" activity during the special learning training of Hefei University of Technology to improve the ability of members to perform their duties. Professor Dong Jun, College of Marxism, Hefei University of Technology, was invited to give a special tutorial on "Strengthening and improving the work of the CPPCC and comprehensively developing consultative democracy". Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward a series of new ideas, new concepts and new assertions on the work of the CPPCC, scientifically answered the directional, overall and strategic issues of the development of the CPPCC cause, and formed the important thought of General Secretary Xi Jinping on strengthening and improving the work of the CPPCC. Professor Dong Jun thoroughly interpreted General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thoughts on strengthening and improving the work of the CPPCC and comprehensively developing consultative democracy from the aspects of the CPPCC's political principles, nature, objectives, tasks, functions, characteristics and advantages.
The members said that they should continue to deepen their study, deeply grasp the scientific connotation, core essence and practical requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important thought on strengthening and improving the work of the CPPCC, and enhance their sense of responsibility and mission in performing their duties and making suggestions. We should closely focus on the major decisions and deployments of the provincial party committee and government, major strategic needs, and major practical issues in development, and carry out in-depth research, consultation, and democratic supervision to better serve the scientific decision-making and effective policy implementation of the party and government.
